Oh! Steam bending too! I've recently started making walking sticks, only sent out a post asking if anyone had an old wallpaper steamer yesterday! I was thinking of using plastic guttering for the pipe.
Haha thanks Martin. Was fun to do...stressful...but fun :) I thought it was going to be really easy to do but it took a fair bit of researching to get a decent result. Onto the next challenge ;-)
No probs. I found kiln dried too difficult to bend for what I needed but the bends were quite extreme. I’m gonna try the kiln dried again soon but not have the bends so tight. The steamer could definitely be improved but it did the job I needed it too...and it still survives to this day 😂

I was gonna use plastic but wasn’t sure how it would cope in the heat...although to be fair, the wallpaper stripper is plastic and that seems fine.
Well done Smug good mission.

Hello Can you post the details of the suppliers for the pipe work & other items you used to construct the steam box please
I got a few bits from Axminster Tools...screwfix I think and just called round local plumber merchants.
Smugwood thanks. I am on the mission.
I like the fact that you showed the small failures , but you achieved the objective in the end. Good job.
