yes but Japanese people generally do exercise such as stretching, yoga... they almost dont do "cardio" exercise, and this is a factor as well. it's good to be active, but not to make your heart race all the time. People who run for one hour everyday will not live that long, they are eventually damaging their hearts. Moderate workout, not much stress and proper nutrition are the keys.
@@vanessaruiz4705 Agreed. It is 100% a cultural difference, and the nutrition is the key defining piece. In the US, food is mostly processed and lacks any real nutritional value. We have kids dying of cancer, that should be a huge indicator that the diet is trash and people here are addicted to sugar and salt.
@@vanessaruiz4705 I jump rope daily nowadays, do you think that makes me just as unhealthy as the people who run for one hour that you mentioned? I don't jump rope for 1 hour though. I just rope for about 30 - 40 minutes.
This documentary is very inspiring. From now I am going to start practicing the sport, a cornerstone of longevity. As one said I’ m the only artisan of my longevity.
There was a Japanese guy who passed away at 106. When asked what his favourite pastime was he replied "laying in bed." Not only do the Japanese look young for their age (like all Asians) but at 80 their voices are remarkably youthful, robust and vibrant.
Amazing Documentary on the Okinawans. Very educational on Longevity. Clean & well balanced foods, different types of Physical Exercises to build up bones & muscles & healthy positive mindset are the keys to living longer & healthier.
My father is already 80 years old and super awake in his head (He's German. I am German.). He has achieved a lot in his life and is immensely intelligent. He also has his set routine. He reads the newspaper every day and when he's done with it through the afternoon he reads other magazines. All parts of it except the one about sports. He does no sports and has never done any except walking long distances as a young man and riding his bike. He is able to speak about 17 languages, many of them almost fluently. He likes to drink a bottle of beer every day and when he was younger he was a workaholic. All of his doctors said he actually would have been dead for a long time considering his unhealthy lifestyle and the hard life he's lived. But he has a wife younger than him (my mom) and me (I am also quite young) also my sisters which occasionally also bustle around him. He has a lot to deal with and has not many body issues except trombosis and his muscles which do not work well anymore. He writes books because he's bored. He was a journalist once because he was bored :'D. He did a thousand things because he was curious about so much and had an insatiable thirst for learning. Hi, this is an excellent documentary, there is a way of getting a file with the English subtitles in order to make Spanish traduction? I can make it an share it later
They all look like they've been through hell, but there are some things to notice. No arthritis. Very few have to wear glasses to see. Most are able to still get around, although slower. In the USA, it seems around the age of 60 is when most people start going downhill. Some go downhill sooner, some later. By the age of 80, most are unable to even shuffle around and are usually on a bowl full of medicines every day. I blame the food. In the USA, it's very difficult to get hold of good healthy food without spending a fortune. You almost have to be rich to eat well. To make matters worse, the average person in the USA has been trained to eat heavily processed junk. In Japan, a lot of people seem to prefer fresh real foods over junk. I know why too, fresh real food tastes a lot better. Over time, a lot of people in the USA have lost touch with cooking. Most women shy away from cooking because of their false belief through programming that cooking by a woman is somehow not worth her time. Men tend to shy away from cooking because they still see it as "too girly" or they just don't know how to cook. Nobody I know personally knows how to cook decently. The last person in my family tha could cook was my grandma. Boy did she know how to cook. My grandpa would tend to a garden while she would tend to the kitchen. They were able to raise nine kids on a relatively healthy diet while being poor. The modern single person has a hard time just feeding themselves on a single income. More people need to have gardens and cook at home. It's not that difficult. First step is learning how to cook. Focus on ways to prepare fresh produce and seafood/freshwater fish. Once you get the hang of it, you should have a pretty good idea how much produce costs. Then do some math to see if it's cheaper for you to work at your job to pay for the produce, or work outside in a garden for your produce. For the majority of people, it saves to have a kitchen garden, especially if you do home food presurvation.
I forgot to mention that those who say fish is too expensive, they could go out and catch some fish. Most adult men I know would have no complaints about going fishing every day or so. As a kid, I would go fishing every day after school and the first decent fish I caught was part of my dinner. A person could potentially live on a part-time income if they had their own garden of sufficient size and obtained their meat via hunting/fishing.
art hick, Vegan I presume. There is something that you must learn eventually. Humans are not set up to consume only plant matter. Sure, humans can "survive" on plant matter if they're adults but they have to be very careful and vigilant or they will become deficient in numerous nutrients which will lead to health issues and a shorter lifespan. Children can't be vegan without serious consequences long-term. Humans must have some meat in their diet to remain healthy. It's a simple fact of life. Fish is about the best meat for humans. One fish is usually about one or two meals. Fish are plentiful. Fish are not as advanced as cows or chickens or even pigs. They can be killed quickly and humanely. There is little waste. I understand your point of view, I really do. I don't want any animal to suffer, including humans. This is why I suggest people obtain fish from the wild (responsibly). This way, the fish can live life as a fish until we need them. Cows, chickens, pigs, and other such meat animals are too intelligent to be humanely used for meat. That all being said, veganism is not the answer. It may seem like an answer, but it's not. This is because we are not herbivores. We must have *some* meat in our diet or we will suffer. If you read this comment this far, congratulations. I commend you. If you haven't, your brain may be suffering due to nutrient deficiencies and you need to eat some meat right away (I suggest fish).
