In the beginning of my plant journey my alocasia black velvet died on me suddenly. It made me cry. Luckily I saved a corn and it's going on it's third year 😊
Boy oh boy can I relate. I'm so glad you got that second chance. See, these plants want to live, but they aint afraid to die...and they leave a legacy (corm). I've yet to dive into Alocasia, maybe one day.
I apologize, I thought I responded to this earlier...my brain fog is on 💯. Yeah, that China doll still has a hold on me, but I know better. I'm definitely loving the bounce back of this Mathilde. Fingers crossed that her peduncles produce flowers.
This video has put me in the mood to go through my entire collection and let go of the plants that I don't have the time or energy to take care of. Thank you !
I'm so glad! Do it Jackie!! Free yourself. You will feel that weight lift off and you will enjoy your plant space that much more. If you decide to do so, reach back and let me know how it goes.
Thank you for your videos. It’s eye opening to look back on the plants I lost due to lack of research. Your plants are looking great! Also, did you make your sweater?
Jan...😍 Yes I made my sweater. You're a knitter. I'm cheesing so hard right now. I love when someone recognizes my handknits. Plants and Knits, my kinda people!! Yeah, I probably do way more research beforehand, so I look/shop with purpose. I can't think of the last time I've picked up a plant that I wasn't already familiar with. Not to say that research means no plant dies...but I've cut down on my funeral services dramastically 🤣
I’m a crocheter but have been knitting regularly for about two years. Determined to become prolific😅. Definitely love my plants too! Your sweater is beautiful.
That beauty is a Hoya Mathilde. She has flowered so many times for me it's crazy. I just propagated her cause I think she wore her roots out 🤣. I have around 20 hoyas.
@@yvetteboonecreates the mathilde is definitely on my list. So far the only Hoyas I have are the ones I have gotten at the bigboxstores and 3 from a plant sale local. Waiting to purchase wishlist Hoyas until my shelves and lights are up in my room as I have no space in my north facing apartment with not enough light for plants. Have you done an updated Hoya video? That would be great. Tfs
😂😂😂LOL think Charlie Brown Christmas tree . Yes , I feel the same about the croton, I refuse to , no mam , Stella joined Sally in the alley. Research will save you a lot of heartache , embarrasment, etc. I can out of the gate tell if this plant and I are going to make it or not , just by doing a little research.
Not the alley Linda🤣. Yeah, I am a research girlie, so I found it ironic that it wasn't my first stop back then. Ego I guess, but I also thought...it's so simple. But now...before I even consider. Sometimes I don't have to even research, experience has taught me that most thin-leaf plants are not for me....vibrantly colored plants are not for me...and I side-eye the ones with a lot of white variegation.
I used to be one who saw a plant and pictured a space in my home and SMH . Sometimes, it just wasn't happening. Sometimes it's not you ( what you are doing or not doing ), it's your home ; your home and this plant are simply not a good match .
Totally get it but I am like Woo wee..lights wipe leaves watering filter bottle waters. I mean humidifiers. But I like smaller ones. Neem good for some I am doing my research its like babies lol Thanks for the story and say try another plant. I do garden its on and popping I think I will let these few your house lighting. ✌🏾🌻❄️💜💜🩷
You’re room is looking LUSH! I love it! 🥰
Thank you!! My plants are on a heavy rotation in the winter. They get time in the boom-boom room. 🪴☀️
Yvette, Girl, you are so good! I love your talk videos as much as your plant show videos!
Thank you so much Shimmy....shimmy shimmy. I'm really glad you enjoy them and thank you so much for telling me 😊

Wow! Impressive, both of you! One for knitting that beautiful sweater, and the other for the great eye in recognizing the beautiful handmade work.
Thank you Jan. Guess who crochets too? Yep...it me🙋🏽♀️

Tell us what that beautiful plant type of Hoya is? I love Hoyas especially that small leaf ones. How many Hoyas do you have? Tfs

No I haven't done an update hoya video...yet. Thanks, that's a great idea. I do have a plan for my hoyas this year so look out for that soon. 🪴
Haha trauma bonded with a plant! I get it completely!
I need therapy from my plant therapy🤣
You have a great garden thank you sis❤

Thank you ❤

Yeah, I keep it as simple as possible. If it needs water dripped from a Tibetan cave gathered on the full moon...then it's a hard pass for me.
