Setup my IV before this video and must say it's very intuitive. This video is PERFECT!! Thanks for the tips at the end. Explains some slight variations in my first few tests. You guys did a GREAT job with the IV!
Thank you for your comment.
Thanks for the video! Can't wait to get the new lineup!
This seems great!
@coralvue Hi. Love the video and I am trying to follow the instructions and setup my X10. If you look at the video at 1:09 mark, you can see the plastic spacer(?) being put on before the screw cap. However, I don't have these in none of the 8 tube slots on my X10. Is it something that I am missing, or do I not even need? Very confused. Please advise. Thank you.
You guys working on a control that I can add salinity probe without the X10?
All I can say is that currently, the X10 is the only device that measures salinity, but there's a good chance more HYDROS devices will be available in the future.
So by doing this you only have 2 dosers left to use? If you run the IV
For normal Alk testing, you would use 3 of the 4 dosers. So there would be one spare doser to use at your leisure.
So the x10 does not come with a salinity probe and needs to be purchased separatly? Also if i want a constant ph reading do i need another ph probe?
That is correct. If you want to monitor salinity you will need the salinity kit with the dual calibration solutions. If you are testing alkalinity remotely using the iV then yes you will need another pH probe and controller with an available probe port as the X10 only has one. If you are not doing alk testing then the pH would be in the sump with constant monitoring.
How many test can you run from the refill reagents? Ie: 300 test from one gallon of reagent. Ty
It really depends on what the aquarium carbonate hardness kH is at. If it higher at 9-10dkh you will use up more reagent per test and run out of reagent faster that one who has a lower system dkh. I tend to get a little over one month with a 1000ml and testing every 4 hours with a system alkalinity at around 9-9.5dkh.
Does the tubbing length matter? Can we cut it to any size?
Yes, tubing length is critical. You can go as short as you want but there are restrictions to the length of tubing which can be located here for more details: www.coralvuehydros.com/product-support/hydros-control/add-iv-tester/
Why hydros not production for Europe market??
How do you get the 4th doser working?
Do I need an X10 for this? Can it work with other dosers?
Never mind. I went ahead and got the X10.
do i need the salinity probe to test and can i get away with jus the PH. also my stirrer isnt working. both drive 1 and 2. any fix?
The salinity probe is only required if you want to test for salinity otherwise it is not required for alkalinity testing. I would suggest submitting a support ticket at support.coralvue.com to assist you in getting the stirrer working.
Im a bit disappointed since it comes with a 25 mL beaker and not the larger one required to calibrate the doser. Also wouldn’t finding a large beaker and using the markings to see how much solution is dosed be very inaccurate?
I am sorry to hear of your disappointment but the included 25mL beaker is for common calibration of the X10 dosing pumps like for the additions of two part or microelements. A larger Beaker was not included to drastically keep the price of the product down since it is not required unless doing Alkalinity testing which would require additional devices like the iV. For calibration practices for Alkalinity testing with the iV require a larger 100ml+ beaker or better yet a scale for precise measurement.
