Dude - good video, but I thought you'd actually go into physical installation details - removing grill, all the wiring and stuff?
if money isn't a issue you could take your front & rear bumpers off make exact dimensions cut outs to make them blend and functional.
Im confused. Is ALP also a radar detector or is ALP exclusively a radar jammer?
Also, I cant find a video where it teaches you how to install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
exclusively a lazer jammer
How are these with temperature? I live In northern Alberta. Would I have to take them out before every winter?
Temperature isn't an issue. The main thing is making sure that they stay free of snow, salt, and grime. That can mess with the jammer and prevent it from being able to see or transmit laser.
How does it hold up to road debris and road salt over time, I wouldnt be that disappointed if it didnt detect lidar while it has road salt on it but can that break the jammer?
My installer put my rear sensors about a quarter inch back from flush on the rear but perfectly aligned…. Could that decrease effectiveness? Wouldn’t the signal still shoot straight out as needed? Or should I unmount the 3m tape and move them out flush
On a xc90 where would you mount the alp heads, on the top or bottom of the grill and should they be centered or at the boarders of the grill. Planning on mounting 2 heads. Thank again for all your help your videos are amazing
What about a grill-less car like the Tesla Model 3?
Some cars kind of suck for laser jammer placement. You could mount them really low so it's either a low install or cut the grill.
Any problem mounting on cars with active grill louvers?
So on the blog, you state that if you use a tx sensor, the regular sensors can be placed vertically. Is that correct?
Yep
@@VortexRadar thanks for such a quick reply!
If you’re looking for a video suggestion, I would love one going over all the hardware options and updates that have been made. I recently bought a used system off eBay to save some money and it looks like I have the cpu hw2. Im still learning all the ins and outs of the different hardware options. I’m still not certain I’ll have everything I need to actually make it all work.
I was wondering if you tested any laser jammers? like Blinder HP-905? BTW, great review
Yeah I used to run HP-905's before switching over to ALP's. They were great for their time. We've tested just about everything at this point pretty extensively.
Well this is a tough decision...Question so the Anti Laser Priority just does laser jamming....So what about radar detection for KA, should I use a Escort 9500ci or a K40 or something?
Luckily enough I just released a video that goes over this. Have a look. :) ruclips.net/video/wgkzNPhaPWo/видео.html
Can they survive a touchless car wash?
Yes they can no problem powerwasher there very robust
So its best to get a radar detector and a lazer jammer?
Yep
how about if we DONT have grills "2008 350z" ??
That car's grill front end is excellent. Just install them in the "grill" area in the front end, that lower air intake area. This car isn't any different than others in this regard.
aint it to big to snap the adapters ? and wont they be too much inside and not sticking out enough like u said ?

If you're not sure, it's a good idea to hire a professional who can figure out the best way to install it in your vehicle. If you'd like personalized one on one support, you can book a private session with me here: www.vortexradar.com/private-sessions/
Hey sorry to bother u again but had one more question I wanted to ask u , really appreciate the responses . Does it matter if the headers are pointed slightly outwards ? And when I say slightly I mean like a hairs length, literally . I look from the front of my truck and the headers look dead on straight but when I look from the side angle it almost looks like the headers r each pointed slightly outwards from each other. So slightly tho that u can barely tell , like if they were then it would be by a hairs length. Would that have any effect on performance? Or do they have to be drastically crooked to effect performance ? Thanks for any help!
+Darius It's the most common cause of punchthroughs (jammers trying to jam but the gun can get a reading off the car anyways). However, because the ALP is very sensitive, it's more tolerant to heads being slightly misaligned and still giving you solid performance. Do the best that you realistically can.
+Vortex Radar Ok thanks for letting me know . Is there anyway I can test out my headers to make sure I don't get any punch throughs ? That is other then going out and buying a lidar gun?
+Darius You can also go to a lidar testing meet up. See here: www.vortexradar.com/2016/01/alp-setup-guide-part-8-getting-your-jammers-tested/
+Vortex Radar I live in Phoenix AZ , didn't see postings on there for here from what I saw . Could we exchange emails so I can send u 4 or 5 pics of my Tacoma with the headers installed ? I want to get your verdict on it from whatever u can see thru pics if that's ok with u .
+Darius Please take a look at that setup guide for information on placement. If you need specific instructions for your vehicle after reading that, follow the links to the forum for placement suggestions.
What are the dimensions of the heads? I looked but could not find this info. I have a VW GTI MK7 which has a horizontal gap in the grill that would be perfect for head install but I do not know how thick the heads are (vertically).
It should be on the website and in the manual, IIRC. I'm actually out getting some closeup photos of them now.
+Vortex Radar I checked the website and installation guide and found no dimensions. Maybe I am not looking in the right places.
+Vortex Radar Found it! www.alpriorityusa.com/AL-Priority-Additional-Sensor.html
Nice! I'll update my setup guide because that's great info. Glad you found it. 👍
Where can I buy this particular jammer?
Right here: bit.ly/1QbEP58
ALP needs to make fiber heads. The company that does have fiber heads for its jammer has this big ass ugly looking gps looking unit for the inside of the car....... ALP has the nice small and stealth controller for the inside of the vehicle, but no matter how you may try, its impossible to make the current ALP heads very stealth
