Do you have a product/ video for making a hard cast of my face so I can make latex masks based off my head & neck size? I watched the hydrocal vid and looked at the product but I'm not sure if that's the right product I want. I'm wanting it to be as easy, yet cost effective as possible. I'd prefer not having to buy multiple products to achieve a flat based mold like you had in the video.

That will require several steps as I do not recommend making a rigid mold of your face. You can pull a clay positive (such as monster clay or Alien Clay) from a 590 alginate face mold or a CopyCat silicone lifecast. The clay positive can be used to produce a Hydrocal mold. Go to the video library page and check out the "lifecasting page" the "sculpting" page, and the "silicone props" page.

This might be a bit silly to ask, but I've seen a few people make molds from regular caulking silicone with cornstarch added. Would the cornstarch work to thicken these silicones as well or would it cause it to inhibit curing?

Cornstarch will thicken silicone, but it will also lower elongation (stretch) and tear strength. There are some types of cornstarch that will inhibit some platinums so do a test first! Food additives are a real mixed bag as they are mainly designed not to poison you.
