Is it common for a photographer to charge monthly until the day of the event?

Some photographers do payment plans that way and it is an industry standard to have all payments done before the event, so it wouldn’t be a red flag for me.
If you prefer to do payments differently I am pretty sure your photographer would be open to it.
That being said, make sure your photographer is someone you trust.

When u book the photographer is that just the pictures that ur gonna use on ur 15 or is that also the videography for ur suprise dance

You will need to double check this with the photographers that you are considering to book for your Quinceanera.
We all offer different packages and include different things.
It is very common for a photographer to also offer video services but double check.
