- Another video of the Center Fork and Easing Off issues on my 1962 Draper X3 loom.
The center fork detects when the filling is not inserted into the shed properly, ie wrong tension or broken yarn. Then it shuts off the loom.
There are many things on an X3 loom that will shut it off when something is not right. When and where it stops can tell you why it shut off. Easing off is where the loom turns off for a reason other then normal.
I need to find one of these
I'd like to find one of these machines. Where can I find one?
The company I work for just acquired 4 of the machines and they are catching it with them they could use some help with maintenance and training.
What company is this Mary? If you don’t mind me asking.
Looks like the handle is slipping off , I did not see it indicate a filling stoppage or laying off, or easing off as you call it. You ca hold your index finger on the bunter linkage , if it is easing off you will feel it tipping every once in while , also you might can lubricate the filling stop mtion rod where it slides , on the end and the center. i believe i could find the trouble in 15 minututes, i worked on these looms for 12 years before going to Dorniers for 24 years.
Thank you for the insight. I don't remember what I did to fix it but it runs flawless now.
IT'S LAYING OFF NOT EASING OFF, CHECK hearness crossoing timing for fabric being woven, check center fork prong length adjustment, see if center fork stann is set too , low .... set flush with raceboard for anty style , also helps avoid center kinks
