This family has been making Cashew feni by hand for 100 years. #cashewfeni #India #liquor
Guys the brew undergoes distillation so dirt and organisms don't matter at this stage.
Thank you
Meanwhile other distillers: "You can taste the hints of nutmeg and coriander from our mash."
Distillation doesn't filter everything.
@@promontorium distillation gives you the purest form. I recommend you read before you comment. They add nutmeg post distillation.
@@promontorium it removes the flavour my boi, often then will then put the distilled liquid back into barrels that contained other things or wooden barrels where the flavor can infuse from that etc.
Distillation doesn't filter everything, like organic volatile compounds(which give things flavor via aroma) but it does filter out organisms and any contaminant that isn't a liquid.
If you distill it properly, however, it will filter out most liquid contaminants as well.
It's funny that cashews are native from Brazil and Jackfruits are from India, but the Portuguese distributed them back and forth and now both countries have them for centuries.
Wrong. Lol Stole it from Africa
I love the Portugués!
I think many countries in the tropics have cashews growing naturally. I remember making cashew wine when I lived in Trinidad. Everyone have
at least two cashews trees in their yard.
In my language (Malayalam) cashew fruit is basically called "Portugese mango"
@@I-yah890wrong , is from South America and Latin amends as a whole.
The comment sections of these videos are hilarious 😂
Cashews, when fermented by itself will give you wine.rumor has it that if you have a few drinks and pass underneath a cashew tree you’ll get drunk as a nit.that’s from the Caribbean 😂😂
Did any😂of it go into the rum?
Lol you guys didn’t see the full process!😂 they distill it.
A gallon of sweat from the 100 degree heat is the secret for the tridiagonal taste.
I was thinking the same thing
Man what the heck is wrong with that guys knee? It looks painful…😮
Looks like an abscess,
I said the same thing!😮
Varicose veins it can be very painful
It looks like it may be a meniscal cyst.
Fun fact: those yellow and red fruits that are attached to the pods are call “cashew apples” by some english speaking countries and some say are delicious. They spoil very quickly as does the juice from these fruit, which is why you can’t find it in most countries.
Cashew nuts ❤
We make cashew wine in Belize....
OMG 😱 he didn’t even washed the boots 👢
That's the flavour. Do you think he washed the area he is stomping in 🤯🍻
Get the stick out of your butt. No one dies.
My point exactly
@@brocone1846 that's nasty
He was dripping sweat into it too. They clients still alive so can't be too bad
It's the dirt on the boots that gives it the distinctive taste
There's an entire episode about this family and business. Great watch.
Hi Busy Lyzi. Can you remembered the title of this program & can you watch it on You Tube. Thanks for your help. I have never hear of Feni.
What do they call it in other countries that sell it.?? What does it taste off??
MAD RESPECT ! from Northern Michigan
Respect from west Michigan a well!🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
@Witney Eboni hello fellow Wolverine ! It's about time this cold weather broke.
Machines would speed up the process, and make it 10,000% less disgusting.
Well it's not disgusting... They didn't show the part where they distill it... 💔
Secret spices is dirt and sweat which makes feni better
Bullshit too!!!which stick to the boot from the dirt, don't forget this is The Land of cows
See how they make wine. Bare feet. 😂taste good!
Dripping sweat with that feni nom nom nom
And muddy shoes 😂
I once went to Goa and there they plucked a cashew fruit from the tree and gave it to us to taste. The acid that came out of it just burned my mouth 👁️👄👁️ and thus i was so scared when they served fenni to try...but it's still worth a try guys...tho where i tried it , it was a machine based manufacturing not manually
Probably got some of the oil from the shell of the nut, which is toxic.
Isn't it super harsh on the hands of the people harvesting the nuts? That's what I've heard
I ate the fruit from the tree as a kid in Gambia,W Africa. Didn't experience that acidity. Dried the nut to make cashews. To us the nut was more valuable.
Bro shouldn’t be stomping nothin with that knee
I'm sure there is a whole lot of sweat involved in it
In my country we call them "cashew fruits" they taste absolutely delicious 😅
What do they taste of ? Probably a strange question but what’s the closest thing they taste like
even a wooden press, with a center post, that turned as is compressed would be much easier than all the stomping , it can be made much like a grinding wheel
Not cleaning the boots😂😂😂😂😂
I’m sure taste good. Dirt sweating dripping and other stuffs.
🤮
thats y people need to study....
Lmao it gets distilled dumb dumb.
That's why it tastes better than the machine made.....
Helps build you're immune system its not for the faint of heart 😂😂😂😂😂
The dirt must add extra flavor
I love marañonas out of the three 😍
I couldn’t get over the fact that she called those mining boots just plain ass rubber boots
No, they are not.
Avaliable at Walmart $15.49
Rain Boots
So what makes it taste better the sweat dripping off foreheads or the dirt that comes off the bottom of the shoe
Hygiene
They don't even clean the boots that why I don't eat food from those places.
Is it Indian Moonshine?
Nope, its made out of cashew nuts.
@@biswasronit I'm not sure you know what moonshine is...
@@Idontwannahandl This is Feni. Not moonshine.
@@Idontwannahandl enlighten.
Hey Theresa, yep it is definitely Indian moonshine fosho
The Portuguese took cashew from Brazil to India. Original name in Brazil is CAJÚ.
Were I come from we call that fruit "maranon" and eat the seeds fresh roasted 😋
Wtf does the guy has in his knee?!
Result of inbreeding
@@johnblaze8774lmaooo dude come on bro why you gotta go there
@@jnetwork3232 maybe he himself is.
Most likely a lipoma, or maybe scar tissue from an old injury
Why does he not meet ur standards of a perfect human? Does ur ego just not allow it?
No better juice than feet juice with some Rubber flavor unbelievable tase recommend for the one who wants Rapid suicide 😂😂😂
Yea working in 100 degree weather is what everyone who isn't rich or a pampered voice actor have to do all over the world.
There could be a link created to send money & donate to some of these families?
You're kind
Right?! Why not??
If YOU PEOPLE START SENDING MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE, THE LIQUOR WILL NOT BE HALF AS GOOD.
They have been doing this for a hundred years!!! They are just fine and Dandy!!! Leave um the hell alone!!
Wow amazing
Indian moonshine. Some things are universal.😅
OMG... For that long years of making cashew wine, they never think of sanitation to their products.... So dirty!!!!
That sounds good where the link
Just like european old traditions were unhygenic and hazardous there is no shame in admitting when one indian tradition is the same
secret ingredient
even in 100 degree 🔥
Respect his hard sweat dripping in it
Better to just sell the cashews. Feni is terrible.
Sounds like they have gotten into a rut
The more juice came from sweat.
That was freaking funny
They don’t always use boots to stomp. The new distilleries use machines, so chill. Also the distillation process gets rid of all the dirt and whatever else is there.
You won’t get poisoned or sum. Relax 😂
@pavan Exactly
What is feni?
In El Salvador we call those Marañones
the dirt of the soil and their perspirations make the feni's flavor more intense.. 😂😅😅😅😲
Fascinating!
Wow it makes me cry!
nothing like a little ball sweat to liven up your drink
What is it used for??
In Jamaica we call it cashew
Yes, it is a Cashewnut fruit, but feni is the alcoholic beverage made from it.
That cannot be a business from the 1500's..cashews(guavas, avocadoes too) are native to Central America West Indies and northern South America and incredibly slow-growing to maturity...so think early-1800's instead
That knee tho
Nothing beats the flavour of homemade. No matter what you’re making.
I don’t understand the « dirty boots » comments. Seriously, it goes through distillation. One alcohol I wouldn’t be too quick to try is the « chew and spit »
Don't forget the sweat that falls on the "feni"
Really good job
Ohhh it’s Liquor 🥃!!
can someone explain to me what fenti is? I have absolutely no idea what it is, lol.
Local Indian alcoholic drink, like vodka. The closest I can think of is Poitín, an Irish sort of vodka. These things taste like hell. The hangovers are nasty. But all for the stories, because you end up having the night of your life. I've had many.
Indian vs japanese cleanliness with food preparation is so different. But still people eat peni😂
I love cashews .don’t know about that juice alcohol they are stomping on but give me those cashews w roasted with salt
the cashew nut is just the seed of a cashew fruit. look it up
It must be that natural salt😅
Don't forget the 2Galllons of sweat & balls juice😂😂😂
with 10% added sweat !
Shes worked so hard her whole life.hopefuly she gets a break soon?🙏🥺
😂of course.when the season is over
i support street vendors and family owned businesses but they are not taking cleanliness reprocautions. sweating in the 100 + degree days stopping in shorts I'm pretty sure ball body sweat goes into the drink..
A little nut nectar ? No problem they'll just label it organic lol.
Feni gets you fuccccccked up ❤
If they are making a middle class living for most of the adults and good pocket money for the kids then two thumbs up. However a dollar less then build a press and triple production. Enter the age of the Industrial Revolution.
I wonder if the dirt taste costs extra. 😮
At list wash the boots for each use. My goodness people drink that stuff.
Durty😮bit hard working....❤
AYEOO 😮 For a second I thought that they was gonna Eat that stepped on (with dirty Boots) FRUIT !!! 😂
I see sweat dripping on it. Oh yummy! 😋
Ummmy Ummmy, straight from the dirt and filth outside the mash pit, add in a bunch of sweat. Oh boy, I cant wait to drink that......
175 liters per season. If it sells for $10/liter (which I doubt) that's $1,750 per season split amongst all involved.
$20/liter (doubt even more) = $3,500 for the season.
Home costs $850 to buy outright though. 😅
😮😮😮👏👏👏👏🤗🤗🤗😎😎😎😎😍😍🇯🇲🥰🥰🥰😘💖💖💖🧡🧡🧡💯🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Mining boots ?
Isn't wine made like this in Italy?
Is this alcoholic beverage?
Yes,so damn strong!!!
What happened to ol boy's knee?!
The boots, the sweats etc etc..
How's that working out for you guys 😂
Is there a doctor in town. What is the bump on his leg?
Sweat added for extra flavour
When you see him put on the dirty muddy boots you know what's up. It's dirty..
If they get more food hygiene... then yess.
It's time to get a press.
They can make their own press with what they make from selling their juice. 🎉
It's time to get a press and learn how to be more efficient and clean.
No thanks, keep that magic drink to yourselves
Sweat and all huh?
Also just found out like a year or 2 ago that cashews grow with a fruit.
Did anyone notice the sons left knee?! 😮
I wonder what happened! I hope it’s not painful considering the work he does! 😢
What do they do with the nuts?
Boots had been in the dirt before stomping.
not every country is as fortunate as the usa, humble yourself.
Dirt doesn't get into the liquor due to the distillation process.
@@PastorWisky lmao what
How basic hygiene is a sign of fortune
They can’t afford to wear a pair of boots in the pool and not walk on dirt in them? Make it make sense
😂😂😂
@@EvanWerewolf bruh you know something about distillation.
All types of sweat in the juice
What’s with the guys knee ?!?!?
The poor man's knee cap has either been broken or he has arthritis badly in his knee caps
What is Feni?😂
Liquor made with cashew
Floatys everywere no way
😱😂🤣✌️✌️✌️
they making it by foot💀
They need to buy a big fruit juicer more sanitizer only push buttons no sweat dirt grime it is a option change is good to better the business should be a plan in the long run you'll benefit and as you get older more labor hard on your health and family and you'll be happier and at peace and still make momey
