This guy deserves credit he helped me out a lot he deserves a lot of credit thanks for the video your the only one I could find that actually described everything
Yes, to change the lower conn. bearing, you gotta split the cases. Mine had 5 years of hard riding on the conn. rod bearing but I didn't change them, didn't need to.
Showing the Piston at the end of the video it was not on TDC it was on the downstroke and that little screw you pulled out with that little round thing that was on the side of the cylinder was the timing chain tensioner
Thanks for the response. I have removed the 4 camshaft holder bolts and removed the holder. What is the best way to push out the rods (in the upper holder) holding the rockers?
Can you tell me how to disassemble the camshaft holder/journals? I have to remove the valve lifters to put in the new head of my '01 XR100R. Thanks. Chris
Chris DeBardlebon If im thinking correctly you have to remove the camshaft holder bolts, the 4 ones on top of the holders. I may be wrong man tho. Im sorry if the video didnt show what you needed
85ccmaster very cool, and thanks for the reply. I have a 2007 CRF 100 that I built for racing in the Madd Dogg Stock class of flat track racing. Everyone is cheating in that class so I’ve been looking at doing the big bore kit and moving up to the Madd Dogg Modified class. You have some great videos that are well and clearly explained. Me, and I’m sure many others, appreciate these kinds of videos.
You need a new top end, and most likely a cylinder if its out of spec now. Also your need to replace any worn parts in the valve train and timing assembly
Chris Evans The piston rings should be replaced, along with the piston. If the cylinder walls are out of spec, bore it out, or go on ebay and buy a newer cylinder
85ccmaster thanks it came right off! I snagged one of these for 150$ the head is in bad shape the timing chain broke. Do you still have your old head? I seen you did the bbr 120 kit. I need a stock head could you sell it to me?

im about to dissasemble the top end today
Great video man I'm subscribing
Thanks for the response. I have removed the 4 camshaft holder bolts and removed the holder. What is the best way to push out the rods (in the upper holder) holding the rockers?
Chris DeBardlebon To get those out, I think I had gotten a clean socket the right size, and got a hammer and lightly tap those rods out
Do I align the pointer with the T or with the line next to the T on the flywheel?
With the T

Great video. Did you do a big bore kit or anything?
Thank you and Yes, I have tons of videos of the bike after I added the 120cc BBR kit to it

Awesome man! Thank you! im glad you like the videos! A 120 kit will make it come alive
Lol 2 strokes are so much easier
oBlair65o wish I had one but sadly I don’t have the exact same bike as this but my piston was blown to pieces I think
Good luck!
PLEASE HELP. My motor blew in my crf80 and i dont know what all needs replacing
I know that it needs a piston
But what else do i replace?
You need a new top end, and most likely a cylinder if its out of spec now. Also your need to replace any worn parts in the valve train and timing assembly
sounds like you did good, and oh yeah lol timing is a little tricky
I got xr100 very low compression I can push the kick start with my hand easy there is tiny bit off compression wat could be the problem
Chris Evans The piston rings should be replaced, along with the piston. If the cylinder walls are out of spec, bore it out, or go on ebay and buy a newer cylinder
Where did you get the torque specs I can't find any online
I just typed in google xr100 top end torque specs and found some from various sites
my polished cam sprocket nut wont fucking loosen, not even with an impact wrench wtf
nvm lol got a huge wrench to torque it more loosened right off
my piston won't pop up or come out
i did the same thing with my old xr80, there basicaly the same
What way do u put the piston
(5:02) wtf was that sound
how do you remove the piston from the rod?
Remove the wrist pin cir clip and the wrist pin and the piston will be free to remove

Glad it worked! and im sorry but I re used my old head but ebay has them!
85ccmaster I've been looking everywhere and I can't find any! would an xr 80 head work?
Ebay should have them, they always have heads for xr100s when I look
thanks man i did the top not as bad i thought but timing it was a bitch
How much do you charge to fix them?
Almost the same,. but cool
u should of tooken the timing chian off so its out of ur way
502 lololololol
my piston won't pop up or come out
