Can somebody enlighten me about the reason where 8 comes from in the name of the university? I could not find any information on the internet probably due to my poor a1 French😢
This is what I found : The University of Paris which used to be the « one » university in the Capital, was separated into 13 universities across the Parisian region in 1968. The first 7 universities are inside of the city and 8 to 13 are in different suburbs. I'm guessing the numbers were given chronologically, that's what the date of creation of each university seems to indicate, but there is no straightforward information on this that I could find. But it seems to be the best explanation. Hope it helped a bit!
