Erik is amazing. His voice is incredible and seems to be a genuinely nice guy. He actually joined Skid Row last year as their singer. He and Dan Vasc did Breaking the Silence together and slayed it. I really liked his Cover of Dio's Rainbow in the Dark.
He sung this song as his audition song on Swedish Idol. Flash forward, years later, he does this video. Skid Row sees him and basically hires him on the spot to be their new lead singer. Band is revitalized. Erik had to finish the vocals on an album SR had already started and he had to do it remotely from Sweden as he was undergoing cancer treatments and also tail end of pandemic. Finally met the band 4 days before they were to begin a residency with the Scorpions and with still 2 songs to finish for the album. He actually started his RUclips channel while undergoing treatment so he could keep singing. Erik is an amazing guy. Positive and inspirational with how he has recuperated from his cancer treatments and looks at life. So.....you like Erik and Dan....you must now try Tommy Johansson. Another one who does amazing covers such as this (actually including this song). His most popular song right now is She's Gone (Steelheart). Cheers!
One thing to note here with this vide is that he had just recently gone through bone marrow transplant and chemo. He had Leukemia. He did these video's to inspire him and keep him going through treatments. Rachel bassist of Skid Row saw this video and gave him a call and as they say the rest is history. Erik joined Skid Row and they've been touring for the past 2 years almost straight and put out a new album that charted in like 9- or 10 countries. Erik is a good dude very humble great talent. .
So you don’t know that skid Row recruited him after hearing this video, recorded a great album « The gang’s all here « with him, him being in his studio in Stockholm, Sweden before flying him to the US . They did two rehearsals and they opened for Scorpions. Six months after his chemo to treat leukaemia. On the video you see that he has no hair due to this chemotherapy. The rest is history. I think they should make a movie about it.
. @weaintraisedrightpodcast You speak the truth sir. How she has stayed with me for so long is amazing. Today is our 49th anniversary and all of my buddies back when we got married said it would never last. Funny thing is, they are all on their second, third, or fourth marriage. LOL You just gotta find a women that is as stubborn as you are

He recorded this version right after the leukemia treatment. You see he has a cap on... This is right after he lost all his hair.
Two great swedes. Henrik Lundqvist and Erik Grönwall!

Glad tot see more people react to Erik, he's not an amazing voice
Dan Vasc covers this song as well! I love both singers, but I would give this battle to Dan.
