Kite Horror💀 in paradise 🏄‍♂️ ||Vantage Kites

Clips from the Denmark trip a few months ago.We had very good wind, which was unfortunately very gusty on the day due to the wind direction caused by coverings.
After one jump, a strong gust caught me during the landing, which caused me to take off again and then the kite fell from the sky. The kite then inverted, which caused the steering lines to cross with the centre lines. I decided to secure the kite with the help of my friend and then solve the problem on land.
Have you ever experienced something similar or even worse?!

Classic things which can happen often. Next time where your kite fly inverted. You can release your chicken and put everything right after in the water. Riding with the lines crossed isn't a problem. On your case, if your friend keep your kite, you can pass your bar on your lines. Easier than back on the beach with a bag of knots on your lines. Ride safe !

Yes, you are right. It can happen quickly and I don't think it's a big risk. But since it was so gusty, I didn't want to try anything and decided to secure the situation the safest way possible.
But youre definitly not wrong and i could have solved it a bit easier.

No offense but you got that all wrong. Just because your kite flipped doesn’t mean you should reverse your bar. That’s why you couldn’t relaunch. Spinning the bar had nothing to do with it. You reversed your steering lines. When you sheeted in with your left hand on the blue you were pulling the kite into the water instead of relaunching it. Trust me you can fly a kite all day long with inverted lines.

Yes I know that.But at first I did not realised ,that the kite was inverted so I started to spin the bar and steered as I normally would. After that I obviously recognised that the kite was inverted.
But I’ve never really had that situation before so I thought it is best to do it the save way as it was extremely gusty this day.

Egal wie sich der kite invertiert, mir ist das schon ziemlich oft passiert, der fliegt danach eigentlich wieder halbwegs normal, man muss halt auf jeden Fall dran denken, die Bar richtig rum zu halten. Rot immer in die linke Hand. Aber das checkt man dann teilweise einfach nicht in so ner Situation 😅

Ja an sich hast du komplett recht.Ich fliege normalerweise Kites dann auch noch weiter aber das war das erste mal,dass ich mit diesem kite unterwegs war und ich wollte nichts unnötig riskieren.😅
