The name "Jíbaro" is used here in Puerto Rico ( I am from Puerto Rico ) as the name to identified the people who lives in the country mountain side of the island and is the hard worker of the land that cultivates agriculture. Traditional jíbaros were also farmer-salesmen who would grow enough crops to sell in the towns near their farms to purchase the bare necessities for their families, such as clothing. The Jíbaro values and way of life are oftentimes associated with the rich heritage and positive culture of Puerto Rico, as well as with the authenticity, resourcefulness and craftsmanship of the Puerto Rican people. These values and way of life include a sense of community, family, and hospitality. From young, children were taught to contribute to the family by, for example, assisting with cleaning and cooking family meals, and for older children, by ironing their own school clothes and polishing their own shoes. Some children were encouraged to look for ways to make money in order to buy anything that was not deemed a “need”. 🥰 Although the episode of the series at Netflix doesn't have anything related to lifestyle of Puerto Rico's Jíbaro it is interesting to seen the word used for a very interesting tale!!!
Its set in PR per some online sites detailing the meaning of the episode. Its meaning is about toxic relationships and how they both didn't win. He wanted her jewels and she was intrigued with him because she could not kill him

hi! also a Puerto Rican here. the word "jibaro" itself has many different meanings across different cultures in latin america, from the proud heritage found in PR to it even being considered a slur in Ecuador(where the word first originated from). i'm not sure what version of Jibaro that episode was trying to portray, that'd require some research into the writers and production team of that episode. but i agree that it definitely wasn't Puerto Rico's version! xD
I would love to see you do a highly detailed bust of this character with one of the large styling heads. I think it would be fun to really deck out the head with all the intricate details.
And then she could make an actual mask too! That would be pretty cool

I really love that the siren has brown eyes. I feel like a lot of tv and movies have light eyes as the epitome of beauty, so it made me so happy to see brown eyes on a beautiful character
It’s a rural Puerto Rican themed doll, it’ll have dark eyes and dark hair.
@@kiwumara In theory, yes, if they are abiding by the features associated with the ethnicity. However, often times in media those features are traded in when it comes to supernatural/fantastical elements.

You have the patience of a saint to be able to do that. I remember being absolutely mesmerised by her while watching the episode.... you did an immaculate job!
I know that was my favorite episode! The only thing I didn't like was how they made the whites of her eyes really red and bloodshot. I feel like that really ruined and took away from her beauty. I don't know why but I think it really detracts from the overall effect. It drives me nuts! I know it's most likely a me problem but she just looks like a homeless drug addict with her eyes bright bloodshot red like that.

Jibaro was my favorite episode from the third season of LD&R so I almost squeaked in joy when I saw the title of this video
I've never seen the show but wow, what an amazing doll! Using the sequin base suit was genius, she's freaking incredible 🤯
I hadn't seen this animation but I saw another doll maker make her a while ago and I was struck by the intricacy of the design and I love your version! It looks complicated but also a lot of fun to make, all those details. Also yay, spooky season!!!!
I would also recommend Sang Bup Be's doll. He did a great job with this character

This episode absolutely broke my heart and is one of the best animated shorts I have ever seen. I have watched your channel for a couple of years I am ecstatic that you have done her ❤️ What an incredible rendition!!! Wow!
‼️I agree! And I actually have a theory about why she's wearing so much gold and jewels. The ancient cultures of South America would actually throw in prized jewelry like bracelets, rings, masks tiaras and big stones, and necklaces, coins literally anything valuable into water (usually lakes) to sacrifice it to their god ( the goddess of the underworld I believe it was). So I always figured she was wearing all of that stuff because the ancient people worshipped her as a goddess in the lake and she's wearing as much of the gifts the ancient people sacrificed to her as she possibly can. That's also why there's a lot of coins at the bottom of the lake as well. The men she killed were Spanish conquistadors as well. There's actually a famous lake in South America I can't remember where exactly maybe Peru where the conquistadors try to get all of this gold out of the bottom of the lake but the lake was so deep a lot of them died but they kept trying for literally hundreds of years. So in like the early 1900s they decided we are going to get these pumps and literally drain this lake so we can just pick all of the gold up. And so they drained the lake and the second the lake got shallow enough that sunlight was able to hit the bottom it basically turned it to concrete. So by the time the entire lake was drained the whole bottom was concrete and all of the gold and valuables is sealed away in that concrete and they basically can't get it out now. I just thought it was really funny how many people died trying to get this treasure and the local people told them you can't just take these sacrifices like this. And they still haven't been able to get the 99.99% of it out even with today's modern tech

Okay so the white witch was my absolute personal favorite bc it's sentimental reasons side from it being amazing. This is by far the craziest doll you've ever brought to life and I'm blown away! This is brilliant! Hats off to you!

But I must say, I would really enjoy watching you create a Dullahan from Irish folk lore. Creating armor out of thermoplastic, and maybe using a doll horse to create a coiste-bodhar, her companion.
Maybe having her hold her head in her arms, with a creepy yet beautiful face paint. And some sort of energy coming from her neck, or painting her spine so it's realistic.
As I’ve said before, I love watching someone who looks like a beautiful doll making a doll. Now she’s making a doll of one of my favourite ever episodes of LD&R. I found the film both mesmerising and memorable- I’ve watched it twice as it’s so wonderful and the documentary. Brilliant. So this is a real treat. The jewellery you made was precious. This doll is amazing! Every time I watch all the tiny things you have to do that would take FOREVER I think, "Wow, I would get frustrated after like 5 minutes and be done". No doll repaints for me but I love watching them and this one is so intricate!

Having watched a ton of your videos one of my favorite parts of your doll transformations is when you add the highlights radiating out from the pupils. It is amazing how much life and dimension that adds back!
I've only seen one or two episodes of this show, and it was interesting, but it's been a while. I haven't seen the episode with this character, but it was an absolute gem to watch you create this siren doll. Such beautiful and intricate artwork! It looked like a lot of work, but it was well worth it, she looks fantastic. Well done! 🤩

It’s not necessarily a Halloween doll but I would love to see you make a character from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
I think when you make the siren, it can feel like a little bit overwhelming at first. But if you think about it, you can never go wrong with this kind of concept. You see its so simple. When you think you had put enough gold, it means it needs more! Its so over the top that putting too much will never be a problem. You don't have to stress over when to stop. Just don't! Put more gold! Now I'm inspired to create a cosplay of the siren.

I just started watching this video, and I just wanted to let you know that another doll recreator has made his own version of this doll about a month ago. His name is SangBupBe and that doll came out beautifully. I'm gonna finish watching this video, and see how your recreation compares to his. Fyi, he took about a month to create his. He put a day counter in the corner of the video.
Edit: I like her and I think she's pretty, but honestly, I think SangBupBe did his doll better.
It’s the styles, since everyone has a different art style. One is more realistic and this one is more cartoon like. That’s why, some do looks better to others. It’s the art style.

I think you might like to take a look at the primary antagonists of the Fatal Frame/Project Zero series. All five of them are so beautiful, and all of them would make stunning dolls. Kyrie Himuro is the classic beauty turned classic yurei, Sae Kurosawa would be the disturbing bloody cutie, Reika Kuze is potentially the most intricate and sexy project thanks to her full-body tattoo, Sakuya Haibara would be interesting since she either has the most screwed up excuse for a face in gaming or a creepy mask, and Ose Kurosawa would make for a delightfully creepy corrupted ghost bride. This is also apparently mostly-uncharted territory, since the only dolls I’ve ever seen made from this series are the two playable characters from Fatal Frame 2. Mostly, I’d just like to see what you could do with them!
I feel like these experimental out of the norm dolls are wherebyou truly shine and show just how talented you are!

I'd love to see some unusual witches for this october, like Majorika from Ojamajo Doremi. Really underrated anime, the witches are unusual because while they look quite traditionnal, they're the good guys (technically they're another species in a parallel world with a full society of good, bad and greedy ones -Dela is hilarious). I think there's a lot of interesting ideas to work from, with the "witches are born from litteral roses" part, the curse part (if a witch is discovered by a human she turns into a frog), being able to go to the magic world only during a smiling moon, the fairies...
