"Rumble" Previs - The Long Take

I've assembled Previs Demos for the 2021 Paramount Animation Feature about Monster Wrestling called "Rumble." This is a critical "long take" from the final match between Rayburn and Tentacular.
We took inspiration from Ryan Coogler's 2015 film "Creed." In that film Coogler shot an entire fight in a spectacular 4:33 single unbroken take. We noticed how that shot connected Rocky Balboa's coaching and strategy to the outcome of Adonis Creed's fight. "Rumble" centered around the relationship between coach and monster wrestler.
Our long take is just under one minute in duration and comes at the turning point where Coach Winnie Coyle helps Rayburn Jr. redefine his wrestling style as a hybrid of dancing and wrestling. Previsualization Lead Christopher Batty did a masterful job overseeing the final fight, and Previs Artist Joshua Cordes took on this challenging shot with unmitigated joy and gusto. I think his enthusiasm translates directly into this shot. Reel FX Layout Leads Christin Marineau and Lucas Peres took on the crucial final camera finesse and polish after Animation completed. A big thanks goes to Director @hgrieve and Editor Matt Landon for working so closely with our Previs and Layout Team to help us design this camera move and committing to such an ambitious shot that was not storyboarded.
