I have both of these headphones. I love the HD 600, it’s probably the most natural, neutral sounding one I have. But, keeping it real, the Ananda is an incredible headphone, it is definitely a Wow headphone.
I'm considering buying Ananda as my second headphone for music listening. I do have 6xx and I really like them. 700 euros is a lot, but I can manage with some months of saving. Is it worth it? I listen to various genres of music, with a little enfasis on orchestral (and psytrance, but I prefer speakers for that). Will I be satisfied? I'm looking for every king of recommendation :D
Your confused about what actual neutral is. I own two 600's, yes an orig. 97. The ANANDA leaves it in the dust. What gear are you using? Something as old as the Senn?
The ananda sounds good and has large, clear wow type sound. But as you listen more, it lacks dynamics, realism, and honestly are quite bad on timbre. The 600 os overall more nuanced and you have to listen to hear the details but they are there.
The 600 have non soundstage and very short bass decay. That alone is their downside as to Ananda peaky treble. So i dont think 600 has no flaw. I own a 600 too. I have to change the pads else is too dull and dry for my taste.
I keep watching your videos looking for an HD600 upgrade as that's what I have and love. Finally, I just realized. Why upgrade when I love it so much? Why not complement it? That's what I'm going to do. I think this Ananda will be a great complement. When I want more treble detail and bass extension - which I do, sometimes. However most of the time I love kicking back and falling asleep litening to the subtle details of the hd600. People forget with more bass comes more fatigue. The lack of subbass and subtle midbass hump with soft, but detailed treble = no fatigue. Ever. At least to my ears :)
This right here ^ That's the answer. There is no definitive "jack-of-all-trades" in this game, but you can have 2 to 3 HPs in your arsenal that will do it all.
@@chuckolatte600 HD600 is intimate with great timbre, but if I must pick one headphone it would not be it. They lack in power and that energy from big planar drivers, yet they got special place in my little collection 👍
@@chuckolatte600 My Fostex T60rp Argon, they are fantastic, clear sound and that bass. HD600 in bass department is lacking power, sound a bit dry. Argon sound is full, give me way more pleasure + comfort of zmf suede pads is of the charts.
Mmm, in my experience I really didn't miss the sub-bass extension simply because I had not been exposed to better sub-bass until sometime after getting the HD600. For my music tastes, you can mostly live without it if the HD600 is only a part of your collection.
@@chuckolatte600 If you love the HD 600 try the new edition (the one with the new design) made in 2021. They are superior to the previous one (silver driver with blue marble headband) the one you have. More resolution, clearer sound, deeper and fastest bass and they look way better. I own both even with new pads on the previous edition the current one are an improvement. Same story regarding the new HD 650 compare to the previous one.

Nailed it. I fall in the former group. I adjusted to the Ananda. Tried the Arya as well and that was an immediate F**k No, treble was too peaky and female vocals were tooooo grainy.

@@nasalmirror Get HD800 for classical music. Ananda is lack of the speed and dynamics for symphony orchestra.
The killer is now here in China. Hifiman Edition XS. It has less high of ananda but more bass which ananda lacked of. Also tad cheaper.
What a great voice you have!

I dont know Ananda V1 but I own Ananda stealth and I can tell its better than HD600 in technicalities & bass but tone & timbre is perfected by 600
I had HD600 for about a week. They sound amazing until you compare them to other 300 dollar headphones. Then they just seem a bit outdated.
you have 114 subs and zero content, nothing you post should be taken seriously.

make it less dry by tube amp, guess you are lacking in gear to drive your headphones

Lack of bass and sub bass kind of makes the hd600 a deal breaker. Lots of fan boys seem to forget that.

Nice drum solo
I premiere next week at Madison Square Garden. Be there or be square XD

They...definitely have their flaws haha
Im a sennheiser fanboy. Had both of these and sold the Ananda easily.
I'm shocked
I alsp kept HD600 and sold Ananda. It just didn't work for the acoustic music I mostly listen to. HD600 are simply better for acoustic and classical.
you know what? fuck it, I'm buying both of these
haha
I own HD 600. It's natural sounding, ok. But also a bit boring. Matter of taste.
Yeah because belching into your microphone is a good way to garner respect.
How does the Ananda compare to the DT1990 pro?
Not sure, I have yet to try out any Beyerdynamics haha
Hifiman❤
Does any1 else feel that the anandas are lacking in vocals ?
Well they are pretty v-shaped so that makes sense. Not too much of a stickler for vocals unless they're just THAT bad
