I first saw flagstaff at the age of 12 when my family moved to williams, az. I'm 42 now and have spent years living in flagstaff and still go there often. It is still the same city it was when I was 12. For the most part. It hasn't changed much.
ive been to flagstaff a couple of times. nice summers, plenty of hiking, free camping on federal lands. even two frisbee golf courses. you get a little extra distance on your drives at 8000 foot elevation. and only 2 hours from warm phoenix area. a bit too crowded for me though.

Flagstaff is one of the snowiest cities in the country. Look it up.

Yep it both rains and snows in the desert, just not as much as other places
