From an art historical standpoint, I find it significant that the producers of these videos choose to show the umpires inspecting the hands of the starting pitchers. To the casual viewer these may seem like mere overflow images from the previous inning's highlights, but there is no reason these couldn't be cut out (the same way they don't show all the other players leaving the field) but for the fact that MLB wants to emphasize that they are enforcing this rule.

Mendoza completely lost them this game. Butto, once again, was not throwing strikes and he kept in there to face SEVEN batters.
Maton was fresh and he kept him in there for all of 2 pitches.

Season slumps? While his numbers have slightly dipped this month, Jake's still gotten at least 1 hit in 15 of 21 games in August. He's getting on base, not sure exactly what slump you're talking about.
Objectively speaking here, but honestly baffles me that Teams havent started Intentionally Walking Merrill??? Like idk, seems like a solid strat given how clutch he's been. Doesn't matter that he's just a Rookie, the results speak for themselves. Wonder if Teams will figure it out for Post Season 🤷
most times intentional walks are built from situations, score and number of players on base. i'm not saying this is good or bad. but a large number of merrils late game magic has been in solo situations. most teams will trust their pitcher and defense in that situation.

I didn't like Profar celebration after game tying home run. It looked like he stopped running the bases and walked towards the Padres dugout.

You’re over reacting. I was at the game on the dugout side. Profar told the boys on the bench “come on! “ like follow my lead and let’s go. Let the players show emotion.
