I have been using Glitter Glue for years. I love the narrow metal piece for detailed snowflakes ,butterflies and nature. Been watching all of you videos.
Thanks Kate, this has been mentioned to me many times before, but unfortunately shipping as well as the cost of the bottles is extortionate and 3 x the cost of the glue which I personally cannot justify. There doesn’t seem to be a U.K. alternative either 😕
Yes! Paste is wonderful for working with paper. It is water based, but very thick. I spread it on with a palette knife and get a nice smooth coating. Never have any bubbles or curling.

Hello nina, always on the search for "the perfect glue"...so helpful to hear from you wich ones you like working with. Thanks for sharing and like you I love my prittstick.... love and hugs lena xxx
I went out and bought those Art Glitter glue because you spoke so highly of it previously and I have to say I absolutely LOVE it. Since I’veused it I hardly touch the bottle of Alene’s tacky glue .
@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia I also use 'Bostik Glu Stik' , (Aussie & Kiwi) brand, which behaves much like your Pritt stik. Though it does get a bit gooey in the heat of summer.
Wow! This was amazing! 🥰 Thank you so much for sharing all these different types of glue! You never know what glue will be like until you buy it and use it. This saves a lot of money knowing what to expect when you purchase certain brands. I've always enjoyed Glossy Accents so I'm happy to know there's an alternative that you recommend! I've had trouble using E600 on painted surfaces. Plus I don't have the patience to wait for it to dry! 🤣Thank you very much for sharing your expertise! 💐
Thanks for your kind comment and glad you found this helpful. E6000 is a solvent based glue so it will strip paint from its surface. It is really meant for gluing things like metal and glass and as you say it takes a long time to dry. It is not meant for paper crafting 💕
Nice! That makes sense now!🥰I've tried it use it to hold cardboard, too. But for that, I have to anchor it down so it will dry for the next few days. Thank you for letting me know why it's not working!☺I appreciate it!

A good tip that I should have mentioned for E6000 is to spread the thread with Vaseline which will stop the top sticking. This is a useful tip for other glues too. I have tried Aeleen’s, but I don’t like the tip as I find it constantly clogs and is far too wide an opening. Of course all of these glues can be decanted into fine tip bottles 💕 X

Hello! I used to use art glitter glue myself but one winter I ran out and needed something and found Barely Arts glue. I don't know of availability in UK as I'm in the US. But it's my main go to glue in place of Art Glitter now.
In South Africa it has come to light that stick glue such as Pritt (and there are a large bunch of brands) make paper unrecyclable. For some reason it can not be broken down / dissolved in the recycling process. I would like to know if it is the same in other countries.
Hi Ronel. I have just googled this and this is what I found. ‘The new generation of Pritt sticks is even more sustainable and environmentally friendly than before; the glue is made from 97% natural ingredients (including water and potato starch) and the stick container consists of up to 65% post-industrial recycled plastics (depending on stick size). The sticks are fully recyclable’.
@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia I am very glad to hear that. In SA we have a large variety of stick glue brands available. I presume or at least hope, that they will follow Pritt's example. Tank you for the information, Nina.
Wonderful video. I never knew that about the art glitter glue, that's why I haven't been able to buy any recently. Hopefully I'll be able to get some soon. I used Beacons 3 in 1 to glue my mums shoe today because the sole had fallen off lol xxx

Thank you for clarification and your "favorites." I am wondering why no one seems to use rubber cement. I find it is really easy to use, doesn't leave lumps and does a great job with paper. I don't think I have ever seen anyone on RUclips use it. Any thoughts?
Hi there and thanks for mentioning this glue. Rubber cement is not permanent and whilst it’s easy to use, it loses its stickiness over time and breaks down leaving a brittle residue that is not easy to remove. I hope this helps 💕
@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia It does and I will need to rethink using it. Thank you so much for the information. As always you are an inspiration for me to do better and enjoy making beautiful things.
Right now the 8 oz bottle of Art Glitter Glue is 14.49 in the US. For me that is just too expensive. I started using Elmer's Extra Strong Formula Glue-All. Not the Washable School Glue. I just put it in the Art Glitter Glue bottle with the tiny nib.
It is expensive but it’s better than any of the other white glues I have tried. We don’t tend to get Elmers glues in the U.K. so I have never tried any of them, but thanks for the recommendation 💕
Hi Nina, thank you for such an informative video, after years of card making, I'm still not on top of glue! I have been using the Cosmic Shimmer dries clear, works quite well and you have a bit of wiggle room. I'm going to try the Lavinia Stamps Bipity Bopity glue, as so eone said it compares with Cosmic Shimmer. I do put it in a fine nozzle bottle, as I'm usually doing very delicate things. I like the Colall because it makes things hard, although it dud buckle a card the other day. Great for making things sturdy though. I have thought about getting the Art Glitter glue, but it seems so expensive. I tried the E6000 once, then the lid was stuck, so that worked out expensive. I have tried the adhesive sheets, but didn't get on with them either! I used them for an intricate die cut panel on to acetate, but no wiggle room. It's definitely a learning curve! But at least it's fun! ❤
Thanks for your comment Mitzi. I will have to try the Cosmic Shimmer and Bipity Bopity glues. A tip for your glue lids - rub Vaseline or lip balm on the threads and it will stop them from jamming closed 🐇

Hi, good video. I’m in Canada, and I’ve been using the pritt glue stick for ages! I usually buy a good quantity when school starts, they’re often on sale, and this glue has not dried up even if i had bought it 6 months before. I like most of your recommendations but an extra question about the modpodge, does it go yellow after a while? I stopped using it for that reason. Thank you for all your good info,👍
Yes, I buy mine in bulk too as I get through so many of them. I’m not sure if the Fabric Modapodge will yellow as it’s a fairy recent purchase so I will have to keep an eye on it. Glad you found the video helpful 💕
I am so frustrated with glue rage/frustration so can anyone please help a girl out? I've tried aleens tacky glue, mod podge, elmers clear glue, and your standard elmers glue sticks - despite them being highly rated they do not work for me. Ideally I want a completely invisible, super strong hold, easily accessible (like a glue stick or pen as opposed to E6000 or super glue), reasonably priced for pretty basic uses like putting wood, charms, acrylic/plastic embellishments on plastic or wood, mixed media, stickers and sequins on plastic such as containers , cardstock, sealing stickers on frosted glass (mod podge changes it to more of a "clear" effect glass) and general beginner crafting. I feel like this shouldn't be such an issue, what am Idoing wrong? Especially with mod podge as everyone says it will dry clear, it does not (we have the science, lol) Does this exist? Thank you in advance.
I imagine you probably have a number of glues that didn't make this video aside from the ones you mentioned. Glues just seem to accumulate, don't they? :D
I have tried many many glues over the years and you are right, there are several I have in my stash that I didn’t mention. There are a few tacky glues that I have which are good glues, but the bottles make them difficult to use or they constantly clog, and so they sit on the shelf. They sure do accumulate because we can’t resist trying out new ones 😆💕

👍👋
small glue sticks = lots of plastic containers = bad for the environment
Big glue sticks use less plastic.
That’s an excellent point ❤️
