You're amazing Lauren, you've got such an incredible personality, story and sense of humour. You deserve to have someone who has no doubt about dating you and I'm sure God has someone in mind for you. :)
A lot of scathing comments on here! Its ok not to match guys. God knows who we should be with...I'm thankful they met and realised it then rather than a year of dating only to break up... broken hearted and older and more battered and bruised.
Had you requested applications to date the hostess with the mostest you'd've been inundated. Forget the minor Christian celeb status. Lauren has character and appeal in abundance. The guy... well.. is he really in his 20's? He is the image of the cccg. Clean Cut Christian Guy aka Tim Hughes. Nowt wrong with that but I don't get the feeling he has enough life experience to deal with Lauren on her worst days. More a pebble than The Rock. Good on him though for being honest. His faux interest would have just wasted her time in the long run. Who knew Free Willy had a new franchise release? (Great story Lauren). .. Anyway... best episode yet..
@@be_salt In retrospect that comment came out a bit harsh towards Sam. Apologies. He actually came across as really mature and sound but I think possibly they are at different life stages. Deciding that someone isn't right for you is never easy and you're always the bad guy/girl if you call it when the other person is interested.
I don’t think that is nearly as important as maybe you’re implying it is. At the end of the day it’s more about where you are in life and how well you gel. For me personally as a 28 year old guy I’d be more than happy to date someone a few years older if there was a spark
Aww this really frustrates me about fellas - he sounded like he was potentially into Lauren, when speaking to the host, and even MORE so to her in the final comments bit, and then BAM, he’s like, nah - I don’t see you that way!? Don’t build a girl’s hopes up saying flattering things, to then disappoint!? Why do guys do this??
I don't agree that he gave the impression he was really into her. Just rewatch the solo section where he tells the host about his reservations, and his clear awkwardness in the final summary where he's trying to find positive things to say without touching on anything romantic.
Always going to sting however you frame it - we think it's better to be warm and then say clearly you don't fancy them than give them the cold shoulder if you don't feel romantic vibes
No reflection on Lauren as she's great but with her being 7 years older than this guy, of course he would want he want someone around his age...that's only natural and totally expected.
@@be_salt Of course it happens and it can work but it's not the norm, that's my point, in the same way I'm sure there are some women who are in relationships with men who are shorter than themselves. Women overall, are in relationships with men either the same age as themselves or older. Large age gaps are not the norm.
I think it's less about the age gap and more about life stage and maturity. Age gap creates specific challenges but is not insurmountable. The fact that Lauren had to explain Friends to him showed they were a bit out of kilter with cultural references.

Amen
Lauren is an amazing person! All the best :)
The guy looks so overwhelmed from the outset.
Big respect to Lauren for going on her own show! #Queen
#Queenindeed
Big respect to lauren
Haha Sam mate. When I saw this I was like woah is that Sam. Haha. Killed it mate🤣
Absolutely!

When men get rejected... Yeah she deserves someone better! When women get rejected... How dare he!! 🤣😒
It's a tough world out there
Where's Lauren's link? 😂
Yeah, how did she get away with that?!

Thanks, we love this episode too. Sam's an awesome guy - we love him.

Haha this was excellent! What a curveball ending though! I didn't expect that, Sam!
His honesty is massively appreciated - cruel to be kind
We LOVE you Lauren🥰
Yes we do!
Ah man they’re both awesome people but Sam doesn’t know what he’s missing!
He's 7 years younger...

Very true
I agree she's really great girl. He lost
@@katejarvis would you ever say it the other way round?

It's really good that he was honest about it though rather than stringing her along.
@@be_salt yeah, true 👍
Right cos women never do this either...
@@Mike.Cebert well I wudn’t kno, being a heterosexual female 🤪

I have not been getting match on the site 😢
23:35 I felt that shriek! Mate, never give false hope to a woman who's ready to settle down. Cardinal sin

Haha, absolutely 💯, and on her own show 🤣
So... Basically you're saying he should have just pretended to like her....got you
Salt algorithm seems to be messed up for me, or is it that I just need to pay for it?
The couples who met on the app think differently... have you watched the videos on the channel about how to improve your profile or get more matches?
Wait, have they actually been on lots of dates- tinder, pilot date and this one?
Tinder was a joke, so this was their second set-up date
@@be_salt oh okay lol!
Hilarious 😂
Hello sweetheart
He's a mug. She's Cheddar Gorge' and super funny.
Lauren you are the complete package; stunningly beautiful on the inside and out ❤ I hope you know what a catch you are girl!!!
She really is a great gal!

We've seen bigger age gaps work fine

Yup - I saw that as a big stumbling block as soon as they revealed the ages (although Sam looks the wrong side of 30 rather than 27!).
