Love the clip with Doris Packer as the ladies' club president. She always had the best reactions to whatever Gracie said. Gracie really was a brilliant actress -- made you believe that she was just making up those comments as she went along. Thank you for posting!
If you listen to Gracie long enough you may start thinking that way. My Dr asked me, "Do you know What floor you're on ?" I stated, " Oh Dr. You must be having a bad day. I'm sitting on a chair!!! "
Gracie was such a brilliant actress, people thought she wasn't acting (and making up lines as she went along?). She received a few Emmy nominations but was never a winner. Ditto: The Burns & Allen Show. The B&A show got better as it went along. A couple nominations but never a winner. I can't argue with I Love Lucys 2 wins but the subsequent winners: I've never seen Make Room for Daddy or The Phil Silvers Show.
Gracie was...and IS a genius!

Gracie Allen "I got a cashmere coat for free today."
George Burns "How?"
GA: It was $20 on sale for $10, so I got it with the $10 I was saving.
(Gracie Allen bursts out with a laugh)
George Burns: Why are you laughing? Did I say something funny?
Gracie: No, but I'm not taking any chances.

👑👑👑I started thinking like that from a ver ty early age. 💯💯💯
Gracie and Mrs. Sohmers were a hoot!
Gracie makes sense to me.
I understand all of Mrs. Allen jokes. Imagine if she also made to a 100 years + Gone to soon.
