A guy I work with got a section 21 no fault eviction from his landlord to leave the house where he had lived and looked after for 15 years , he and his wife and 2 kids are now living in a hotel room with a double and 2 single beds provided by the council under emergency accommodation because he could not find any other place to rent at an affordable rent , they put themselves on the council housing list but where told it could be up to 10 years before they get offered anything as there are
    4000 families before them..!!
One of his old neighbours rang him to tell him that his ex landlord who is of Asian decent has rented the house long term to the council and there are now a family of 7 Somalis living in the house and only 2 of the children can speak English....!!!
What is happening in this country regarding the illegal asylum seekers and migrants with visas to enter is absolutely disgusting , they seem to be given priority over our own citizens for everything..!

What is it, £11.50 national minimum wage now? You simply can not live of this amount in 2024. That's roughly £460 per week, say times 4 = £1840per month before tax. Rent approx £1000 per month, you've got £500 left. Council tax £120 per month, you've got £380 left. NRG bill £200 per month, you've got £180 left. £180 left and you haven't eaten yet or put petrol in your car to get to work. Minimum wage should be £20 per hour

I totally agree. Minimum wage jobs are vital for all including those on a high income. I speak as a cleaner with several part time jobs. It's a stressful rushed job that takes a physical toll on my ageing body but I'm diligent & work hard for my wages doing work that many others look down on. I'm finding it harder every year to get by financially & physically & have no luxury of retirement to look forward to, especially being single.

If the minimum wage was raised to £20 there would be a massive wave of small to medium sized businesses going bust within a few months tops. Then all you will have left is the multinational conglomerates who will replace humans with robotisation and AI. What then for all the out of work? Tackle the immigration issue and take the creation of money out of the hands of privately owned banks and you fix 95% of your problems. Raise minimum wage too fast and the economy nose dives. The bankers want to raise minimum wage to wipe out family businesses. Careful what you wish for

My brother works 60 hours a week in a kitchen he can’t afford a new pair of shoes or to go out for a pint all his money goes on paying rent, gas, electric, petrol, food etc the cherry on the top is his landlord just raised the rent by extra £50 a month.

I’m disabled and can’t work but believe me it isn’t "relatively stress free “ to be in the benefits system. I have the constant stress of PIP assessments and the constant anxiety of wondering if they will give you the necessary points for your claim not to be stopped, I was totally stitched up on one assessment and the assessor told blatant lies, I had to go to my MP to get an appeal in and get my PIP back. It’s a constant battle and worry with these people and the anxiety of it affects your everyday life. Edit: also had to tell the PIP that any future assessments involving myself I would like to be recorded after the assessor who told lies, I went into that assessment with 34 points in total and they took every point away by lying, guess what happened after I got the MP involved and appealed? Yes I got a letter telling me my 34 points are reinstated and you will be paid back what was owed. How nice of them to do that for me. Not stressful eh?!

Immigrants and housing. Putting hundreds of square miles of our green and pleasant land under concrete for the sake of foreigners while our own kids have to live with mum and dad well into their thirties. No chance of starting out on their own because they can't afford the stupid money rents. Knock on effect less families, less children and declining native population.

I remember when they came up with vast redundancy payments for fired full time employees. They simply killed full time status to temp workers. Now Job Agencies get the real money, and everyone's a temp. They force people onto grave yard shifts, and get the mystery amounts themselves. I remember they cooked two people at Walkers Pie Factory. Set new ones back to work the next day. Nobody should buy Walkers products. It's like Bangladesh in those factories.

I have a unique insight on this one. My dad was in the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment in the 80s. He was a strict man, served in Northern Ireland. I spent a good year on Job Seeker’s Allowance after I graduated from uni. I didn’t want a job. I spent a lot of time around the unemployed. A lot of them would not be capable of performing to the professional level that the British Army requires. I think some time in the Army would have given me the boot up the @rse I so badly needed. I am not sure that would be the same for everyone. People have mental health issues and substance abuse problems. They would be useless to the Army.

I have to have my 23 year old son care for me due to me having osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, CFS, prolapsed crumbling spine, spondylosis, asthma, chronic depression ect ect. I worked and raised my children by myself, my ex husband was abusive in every way and never cared about his sons. When my late father became so ill he couldn't look after himself I became his carer. I ran two houses, looked after my sons and my dad and wasn't well myself. My eldest son left home at 18, his choice. After he left having gone to college he took up an apprenticeship and then went to uni, he is now a training manager and a post graduate. He is renting and can't get on the property ladder. The UK is on its knees. The bad element of benefit claimants are making the genuine claimants seem like lazy scroungers because most MPs and media along with the public demonise us all. I feel ashamed and worthless because I'm disabled. No one day is ever the same for me apart from chronic pain. Why is it that the conservative and labour parties can't see further than the end of their nose, if they stopped rewarding illegal immigrants with all they want and looked after the British people, working tax payers and those unable to work, and I don't mean too lazy then maybe we could get Britain back on its feet. Start putting some pride back into the old fashioned British values and install a sense of belonging to the younger generation. When I was at school you could have a Saturday job, not now. Parents could correct their children, not now (I don't mean beat or be cruel) instead a lot of kids are telling the parents what to do. My sons will tell you I was a strict mother, yes I was, what I said I stuck to and although they are grown up young men and I'm disabled I still won't take any lip. There are rules and boundaries that are required to raise a respectful, hard working and law abiding individual and sadly a lot of parents are no longer in control. Whatever party gets in at the next general election they need to put British citizens first and put illegal immigrants second to the needs of our people that are legally living in the UK. Stop rewarding bad behaviour and start rewarding those that deserve the rewards. Happy Easter and kind regards Angeline 🇬🇧❤️🐣

I was briefly one of Maggie's 3.5 unemployed back in the day and you went out looking for work every day because you just couldn't live on the benefits offered. Our nanny state now makes being unemployed a far better option with benefits often paid better than those who have to work. It's all about Incentive Isn't It, If there's no Incentive to work, no rewards, no real apprenticeships and no real prospects and the governments offering tax payers money to top up your 16 hrs a week in Universal Credit and pay the rent then why bother? The clowns In Parliament haven't even worked out that if these benefits and what this country offers Is aligned more with other European countries then there would be no Incentive for Illegals to risk their lives coming here because they'd get the same In France. It's really simple, If you stop the Incentive then you stop the problem whether that's the benefit system or the Illegal Immigrants that want to get their hands on It.

I was doing a man's job and when a man left me andanother man covered his job so I was on half a man's pay and doing one and a half man's work , every car we did was worth a certain amount and it was then shared out every week for the teams wages, so as I was on half their wages they liked the fact I was doing one and a half man's work.

The Benefits System needs urgent attention. It was supposed to help folks like myself who cannot work.
I cannot work because of a Brain Injury, which has caused a multitude of problems. But the Benefits System is open to abuse. Foreigners come into this country and like the Gentleman in the video above mentions KFC, pub meals etc.
As much as it would affect me, the Disabled always, well mostly draw the short straw, the benefits system needs urgent reform.
I remember the Bad Lads Army series, something I would have loved would have been the Army Life. All school leavers should take on National Service for two years. It would sort the not so able school leavers with a direction in life. Instill discipline.
But more importantly sort out the riff raff of society.
Thank you Sam your videos are inspiring for us elder generation but also the younger generation 🙏

Bad Boys Army was a great programme. We used to walk our dogs near the camp on Salisbury Plain where some of their training took place. We never actually saw them whilst we were out walking but recognised the areas where parts of it were filmed. Having come into contact many times with young soldiers training on the Plains, I would say joining the army is something you would have to want to do, conscription would not work.

@@MC14may Thanks, I did not know that. Some of the series was filmed at New Zealand Camp on Salisbury Plain which is the area we know and recognised. It is not far from the village of Imber which we have driven to many times over the years, that is when they open it to the public. Not much of it is left now. When Imber is open you can drive across areas that would normally be restricted, which we have done but you need a 4x4.
We have been walking on the Plains for many years and used to see a lot more army activity than we do these days. It's a shame, it shows how depleted our army has become.

The thing with bad lads army it was geared towards 1950s life and military standards and was more for entertainment.
I joined the military in the late 80s and some of the punishment was borderline torture and although it was accepted then it certainly wouldnt be allowed in 2024.
The strict discipline I received in the army gave me the skills and set me up for life.
    Respect,integrity,self-determination,belief,teamwork etc.
    All lacking in modern society.
The only way we could ever fix today's problem is to go backwards and start at school level with strict rules and discipline in the education system.
We all know the lefties,do-gooders and human rights jollies will never allow that so unfortunately we are on a crash course to complete social meltdown.

The house next to me is owned by a rather nasty builder. He has raised the rent for a basically badly converted property and now evicted the young couple in there. It is classed as a multiple occupancy property.
I fear that this property will be housing illegals very soon.

I wish I could like this video many more times than once. We see the exploitation of the benefits system by some people and get told to shut up about it and go to our PAYE taxed jobs to keep funding others to avoid work. Especially in public services like the NHS where if you are a healthcare support worker you make much less money each month than you could if you went on the brew.

Hey Sam, i wholeheartedly agree with the point you raised regards to young persons wages, because its not like their rent is lower or their food is any cheaper or their bills are any less, so why does it make sense to pay them less when they have to pay the same outgoings as every other older than 21 or over 25 year olds do. its just probably governments decision based on big employers lobbying for such unethical policies and laws. i really dont get why this is , what reasons do government have to uphold this ruling.
