I've lived in Birmingham since 1966. I've been through various areas of Homewood many, many times over the years - and have never known about The Pink House. I'm SO grateful to have finally discovered it, and that it is going to be saved! 💕💕💕 Hopefully my sister and I will soon make a journey to see it in person. Thank you citizens of Homewood, and the new owners for preserving a beautiful, irreplaceable part of history!

I just came across your beautiful documentary- seemingly so randomly. I was born and raised in Bham, in MB area and my dad also from Bham- on Red mtn. I sadly don’t currently live in Bham anymore. I used to shop at White Flowers growing up- and that shop, starting at the Brookwood mall- was a magical haven and then her shop opened in mountain Brook village- all just heavenly. My grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Alston (Eivor) Callahan were good friends with the Bridges and to my happy surprise a photo my grandmother, holding a painting of a dog, is in your documentary- my heart leaped with joy. My dad told me that as a little boy, he would accompany his mother on her visits to the Bridges house. He said he remembers feeding their very large and very old goldfish (carp) and playing with their daughter, London. Also, Mr. Bridges did a bust of my dad when he was a boy along with his 5 siblings and his parents. My dad’s bust, as well as the busts of my aunts and uncles- just fascinated me as a little girl- (and bc they had “no eyes”, kind of freaked me out too)- but still I always wondered about that… was it normal to have a bust? Ha! My grandparents were also eccentric folks ;)… all together, this reminds me of just how cool and interesting Birmingham, Al is ❤. Thank you for making this fantastic documentary. I hope you all will make more! My grandparents last home was on 2020 Warwick drive. Sadly, it’s been torn down- but also a very magical place on top of red mtn, and super close to Vulcan, as the crow flies… thanks again!

My sister lives down the street from the pink house- apparently a young couple now owns it, but plans to renovate to turn into a mansion, but with intention to preserve the grounds

Just recently I explored it and it seems like they are going to preserve the house. They are currently building a mansion that will connect to the house, but it doesn’t seem like it will disturb the original structure that much. The secret garden has, and is planned to stay preserved. There’s been a lot of chaos involving it possibly being destroyed, but I am just glad that this historic house is going to stay in Homewood for now.
