Getting a 35% win rate against someone on that skill level is truly impressive, S2! Be proud of yourself, for you made even the great sibakasu work for their meal.
One of S2's greatest strength's I think is his ability to read the opponent's board and harass/punish. Even if the other guy can out chain him, S2 has S tier harassment game. That 16 chain though... Man I would have just retired
his actual chaining game.. needs a lot of work. he can certainly harass, but he over-builds and stalls for a long time until he realizes that the counter-chain is going to beat his.
@@S2LSOFTENER You both look just as good. You're both god-tier Puyo players. You know exactly how everything is going to fall. I think your opponent was just better at timing everything in just the right way and chaining just the right amount. You're both gods, my friend!
First to 20? More like wait till Sibakazu gets 20! Oh wow you actually put up more of a fight that I first expected, quite a come back in the middle there. Also 20:37 rare footage of Sibakazu getting out chained. Well done.
I'm really glad you fought him S2! I found sibakazu's youtube a while ago and watching his chains is so mesmerizing! Now my favorite youtube Puyo players are playing together :D
The proudest thing I've ever done in a Puyo game is unlocking and defeating Masked Satan in Puyo 2 on Hardest. Siba would send enough garbage to knock out a hundred Masked Satans at once.
"What he has an answer for that?" Gets 16 chained, "Oh my God, what the heck!" That's how I used to feel when we played sometimes. Now I understand how, as I could do it against someone well below my level too, but man it can be frustrating when someone just counters everything you do and out chains you consistently, or when you do finally manage to out-chain them, they somehow setup a 7/8 after chain before yours ends.
First one got me! I remember a wise man once asked, "Why would you go for a 4 ac when your opponent is ahead?" Guess who that was! Generally if you are facing a strong opponent you should never go for more than a 3ac and only if it's quick as the chance to build a 5/6 chain while it goes off is too high and you will either be at a huge time and space disadvantage or lose outright. But what do I know? I'm a noob. lol. It's easy to spot others making judgement errors, harder to correct your own. S2 would destroy me regardless!
Love the 5 chain pokes! Is it a good idea to use a last minute approach to joining different elements of your chain together and build cuts into it so you can control power and length of your harasses but be able to join it up quickly and convert your cuts into extensions! Such a hard game to play well!
hey S2 im new to the channel and a big fan, watching you set up chains and talk about them helps to understand the game better and i feel like there aren't a lot of people that explain anything in puyo. if possible could you explain why you were sticking to smaller length chains instead of the typical 10-11+ that i see you pull off
kinda late but when your opponent can outchain you, you have to do small harassments to block their chain instead and get your wins as so. in this case, s2's chaining power (max of 12 from this video) is nowhere near sibakazu's chaining power (16 in video but is known for consistent 18 chains in matches) so s2 has to rely on his ability to read the game state and try and counter him before that point.
Everyone impressed with the 16 chain, the 9 chain after doing a 6 before your 8 double resolved was FAR more impressive! Being both that fast and that efficient! Even holding down the whole time and avoiding splits entirely I do not know how that is even do-able from that position!
Yup - sibakazu is super super good at chaining 4 puyo per link to the top of the board. I think he’s better than all the big names like amemiya, tom, mattyan, kumachom (people you see in tournaments for example) specifically at chaining large quickly in a vacuum.
i remember playing puyo on my gamboy color. and i couldnt find out how the heck to play it and i see this and im amazed at how the hell you see these chains..
