- Happy Ours is coming home - so we hope. Fiberglass, gelcoat and running gear repairs were completed. But will she sink when put back in the water after being in the boat graveyard for 3 months? Will she run? We’ll find out in this episode!
We put our boat at Safe Harbor Port Phoenix for repairs after Hurricane Ian and it’s finally time to take her home. There is still a lot of work to do, but this is our next step.
Follow along on our boating adventures as we take our 2006 341 Meridian to explore our new home waters in SW Florida around Cape Coral after relocating from the East coast New York on the Hudson River.
Beautiful boat. Congrats on getting her back. 👍🏼
swap sides with the tachs my friend says, one can just be off. you can get a cheap digital tachometer for the front crank pulley to confirm
Awesome video Bud 😊thats a great boat
They do that with the crab markers in the middle of the ICW channels every year! It’s maddening!
😂 oh my God the admiral partners part was really funny 😅I’m single so I don’t have to worry about it yet
Boat is "Looooking Goood !". That was a fun video to watch. Thanks.
Another well done video of the boating life. I'm watching and thinking the boat looks good, you are like, nope! Dirty, dirty, dirty. Glad everything went well and she's back in the water.
Always nice to have a clean bottom.
Tom.... you are making me miss Cape Coral and the ICW! Welcome home Happy Hours!
Good Lad. I'm glad, You, and the Admiral are glad. Congratulations, and Thanks for sharing.
So happy you had a positive outcome from the storm. Someone was looking over you for sure. I’m envious of the boating avalanche on the west coast vs Stuart where I am.
Miller Lite just happens to be my favorite easy drinking light beer as well! Along with Coors light...
Same here! Leaning towards Coors light again lately. 😂
Ahh Captain, she's back on the water, and life is good!!🎉
Happy to see it back and running like new, best part for me is seeing the red/green channel marker you got from a friend still there after all the boat has been through. I think that is a good sign of more fun and adventures to come 😊
Oh yes isn’t it amazing that “idiot stick” didn’t blow away in the storm! Thanks for following along and catching that small detail!
Welcome home, Happy Ours!
Good to see her back in the water. As for one engine not turning the same rpm... compress test... then explore the fuel delivery system... im guessing its fuel injected... could be as simple as low pressure or an air leak... i have seen you check and change filters on a regular basis. Hope you get it sorted out. So nice to see that you were able to save her.
Great to see her back! Happy for you Tom!!!
Nice to see the boat back in the water. 👍
Great videos. I binge watch your trip from New York to Florida. Glad everything back together. Looking forward for more content
Glad to see you back in the water!
She's pretty.... when are the Admiral and yourself going to do a Great Loop tour?
Oh wait, the First Mate is a Jayhawk and an FX MD11 pilot? I may have met him a time or two if he was flying back in the late 2000's. I used to pump Jet-A at the KIND IndyHub.
We don’t have much interest in doing the loop. So much to see around Florida waters. Not sure about the Jayhawks. Lol
I like your channel. It is a relaxing and comfort watch. You seem like a nice gentleman. I have family from the Boston Area and I am from Florida so I can relate a bit to your travels. You are a nice guy and someone who probably is fun to have a beer with. Safe travels always sir.
U2 are fueling our new adventure. We hope to, in three years, own a boat, such as yours and winter on it in the Florida area.
In the meantime, we need to learn serious boating skills. Any recommendations of schools to bring us up to speed? Our experience now is 20 ft. recreational boats in freshwater only.
Thanks again for doing such a great job and with every aspect of your channel. We really like it.
I’ve learned much of what to expect on this journey from RUclips. Watching others take the journey, where they went and what they did. Learning the rules of the road can also be taken with free online boating safety classes. Try BoatUS.org. Start off on smaller trips to learn your boat, become somewhat proficient in rudimentary maintenance. There are many excellent boating clubs such as the Power squadron and coast guard auxiliary that offer good boating courses in person. Study charts to know where you will go, learn the waters and the electronics you will need to rely on.
Happy to see she is back home :)
I had similar problem with stb engine WOT 400 RPM less than port. Having the fuel injectors professionally cleaned solved the issue. They installed new screens and o-rings. My boat is 2005 and I doubt they had ever been cleaned. I have Volvo 8.1's and pulling the fuel rail with injectors was very simple. Took the rail assembly home and removed each injector. Now at same RPM, each engine shows the same fuel burn rate on the Garmin.
I’m thinking that’s the fix for my issue also. I’ll try a thru rail cleaning first.
She looks great !!
Fix the problem, but 50 gal gas burn WOT per/hr.
She's a looking great their Cappy. May she run fast, dry, and safe, every trip.
GOOD LUCK!
Hello rom Puerto Rico i am new here this is a great YT channel
Thank you!
Great to see her back in the water, port engine problem might be a slightly blocked engine cooler, problem could be fixed by washing the engine cooler inlet and outlet, boat coolers usually never get blocked mid cooler, outlet or inlet.
good luck and stay safe.
Why would that keep the rpm lower? It’s not running hot.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs if it's not the injectors then go for my suggestion I had the same problem, no heating problems, nothing. When I took the engine out for cleaning and replacing fuel tank I clean the cooler and when everything was done it was fixed
You mean the raw water heat exchanger?
Thanks for another video! Looking good.
Ran nice, looks good! Did the admiral have a nail appointment?
Lol
Glad shes back in the water.
Congratulations Tommy!
Congrats on getting her back!
Congratulations capt.
I live in the PNW. The crabbers out here place their traps right on the channel markers and in the fairway also. You can't fix stupid.
Just came across that yesterday on a charter. I had to do a double take to see if I was in the channel, but sure enough, crab pots lining the channel.
You take such good care of Happy Ours, did the insurance cover any of the repairs?
Yes. BoatUS/Geico is the best insurance in the business for boaters.
Looking good
Nice to see her back in the water again Tom. I always ask this question of other boaters. My regal Burns about 20 gallons an hour when up on plane. What’s your fuel burn? Thanks… Nice to see you back on the water with your big boat.🎉
We burn about 34 gph on plane at 4000rpm / 20mph.
Beautiful
Love your videos 😍beautiful boat…mine is a daycruiser 21 foot but good for my family of three😁like the fact that you show details and good length of videos….so many show short videos of a minute or two,but i like to be entertained so i subed to your channel.here in Norway a boat this size cost millions of dollars….a yacht this size is about 3 to 15 million krones or about 1.5 mill us dollars….How much in us? Same price?
Wow much more expensive over your way. In the US mine goes for about $120-150k depending on condition.
Question, the boat looks great. Why did you paint the props and shaft, vs applying Propspeed?
I’ve never used propspeed. The HullShield I installed claims to need anti fouling paint, so I’ll see how it works. If I still have issues, I may try prop speed next year.
Happy to see the boat repaired and back in the water. It looks like they did a very nice job. How will address the small leak at the shaft? Great content as always.
The leak was always there. I’ll have the shaft pulled at the next haulout and repaired.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs To bad it can't be done at your dock.
@@robbiddison8652 it would promptly sink if attempted..lol
See, those are the things I don't know about a boat like yours. That's why I like your content and skill set. My boats have I/O's.
Hi Guys. I am also in the Cape and wondering where you had your fiberglass work done? Need some myself. HELP!!
Here are a couple of fiberglass guys that were referred to me in Cape Coral but I was unable to use them as they were too busy last year. You can try: Dane at 239-285-1924/239-910-1840. Or Pete 951-230-5750.
Every boat I have ever owned over 30 feet ,one motor always ran a couple hundred less rpm for some reason
Good to know! I gave up looking for the reason lol
A happy day. 😂😂😂
Need to know where you had fiberglass work done???
A local guy. Was very hard to find anyone available to do work. Not very good job so I’d rather not refer him.
I understand completely.
Thx anyway.
Any good canvas guys around?

Just wanted to know what did she weigh with everything that you did I wonder if it lost or added weight
I should ask the lift driver as they have a gauge that tells them correct? When the crane lifted her up from being on the hard, I thought I heard him say 25. That’s 5k+ over listed dry weight. It was holding quite a bit of rainwater in bilge and gas tanks but I didn’t think that much!
Who do you recommend for lift repairs?
I don’t have a lift so can’t help you there. With availability being what it is, get the first company that says yes!
What can I do to get you to switch to Bud Light. Would help a lot
I still get nervous anytime I see someone walk under a strapped boat! Glad to see you back in the water! That has to be a fuel flow problem with one engine running less RPM's. One of our diesels was doing that, and we found where the fuel line to that one had become pinched. I straightened it out, and fixed it where it wouldn't kink again and that moved that engine from 3150 to 3400 RPM (right where it was supposed to be and where the other engine was at WOT)
I’ll nail it down one of these days!
