I personally kind of loved hurricane season when I was growing up in the Panhandle. My mom took me on a drive along the coast after Camille hit in '69 and I guess all the destruction I saw and the force required to do that stuck with me. At UF I had a dorm room that faced south and I could watch the storms roll in from the coasts and up from Ocala. I miss the lightning storms in that part of the state; don't have that in NW Georgia where I begrudgingly reside atm.
