Here's the thing. Most EVERY band of this style is under ABR right now. Just saw them live with BOO and ABR are a mega PRO band with a mega crowd and a mega following. These guys have stuck to their formula and the guitars/leads/drumming/vocals are brutal as ever. Why the whole crowd was singing to a freaking System of a Down song during the break, I'll never understand.
that's why POLARIS and CURRENTS are the two wonderful metal core outfits today . They are truly heavy while maintaining superb melody . Another superb band is SILENT PLANET .
Good job being close minded and not knowing anything about this band. Saying this sounds nothing like them? Go listene to "Dead Air", "See You On The Outside", "40 Days", "Departures", "Open Water", and so much more. Every song isn't going to sound heavy as shit. And blessthefall is definitely one band that always throws in a few songs like this. Always. And it's just the first single and it's one song. And it's not even trash. Just because it isn't the constant heavy that you want doesn't make it trash. Don't get me wrong, "Hollow Bodies" is my favorite blessthefall album. Probably my favorite album of all time. They are best when they are heavy. But they are still just as good when they change it up and do songs like the ones I listed and this one. Don't be so close minded and don't call a song trash because a band isn't 100% all the time like you would want. This is still a great track.
This reviewer is close minded toward anything that isn't in your face HEAVY all the time. I initially liked his channel until I seen all the negative shit he says about cleans lol. Doesn't seem to have a clue about music honestly.
+Northgodd (please read this there's a suggestion in it) it's not about having an opinion. That's fine, but the over reactions to the cleans I've seen EVERY time you've done one of these is just ridiculous. It's so over dramatic. And I get it, a lot of metalcore bands that do cleans can't really sing all that well so I'd be curious how'd you react to some TesseracT or Between the buried and me. I guess my whole point here is that you're a little too harsh on these dude's trying a new sound is all. I'm not a huge BTF fan but it's not an utterly horrible song.
NathanDrums There we go! I do like Between the buried and me. Also really like Mastodon. I also like AA (stand up and scream and reckless and relentless. I do over react to cleans and I am VERY over dramatic when I hear cleans in a band i haven't heard much of before. The problem I have with cleans are when a band changes their ENTIRE formula for writing music, example; Bring me the Horizon ( with all due respect to ollies vocal chords) I've said in about all my videos my taste in music is changing. I used to love listening to Atack! Attack!, Woe is Me, WCAR, Escape the Fate, etc etc. But that era of music has changed and I get that. I can be very harsh on bands and I don't want to take anything away from the band creating music because in the end it doesn't matter what I say it matters if they love what they are doing. The formula for Metalcore is dead. Vocalists voices are thrashed and bands are coming up with different styles to play like Beartooth for example, more of a heavy rock than Metalcore. My opinions on music and bands creating music nowadays is so harsh because it all sounds the effing same. It's got a heavy intro and a shite soft hook. If bands "stood out" more like they did 10 years ago, soft vocals wouldnt be a problem for me. AA, WCAR, Woe is Me, Escape the Fate ALL have SOFT ASS vocals but you can tell every band apart. Nowadays I can't say the same for current music being written. The formula is dead. We're lucky if we get any heavy chugs anymore and it really saddens me.
Seriously what is happening to the genre? That looked like MFW In Flames put out their last 3 albums. Someone keeps shitting in all of our collective Cheerios! We must put our faith in djent
Idk man 2013 must of been a killer year, cuz I've been finding lots of bands recently, and I really get into them, and when I look to see what album the song is from, it's from the 2013 album. Like the past 6 bands I've discovered, the 2013 album is the one I find, and it just sounds killer compared to their newer stuff, for most of them atleast
By the way, what do you think about The Devil Wears Prada's newer stuff? Maybe do a review of one of their newer songs. If you want a heavy one, do Alien. Not their newest, but you won't have to get upset lol
Awakening was a great album too. I was also a fan of their last album - To Those Left Behind. Pretty heavy tracks on the last album so I don't understand this new track either.
If you want some young talent that will most probably be up your ally when it comes to heavy metalcore and not... this, I recommend to you Currents - Delusion my good sir. Would love to see you react to it and see what you think.
Dude you should really check out silent civilian, and maybeeeee make a review/reaction. They are about to make a return after 8 years, and their old songs are heavy af. From their 1st album in 2006: Rebirth of the temple, this song remains unknown, force fed, dead to me 2006. From the 2nd: Sustenance, Ghost Stories, Atonement. Actually all of their songs are cool af! AAAAnd for the best build up song (after seven from Phinehas) Silent Civilian - Live Again bruh plz i wanna know what u think :D
It's quite a shame that almost every metalcore band is getting softer and softer. I'm sure you've heard it, but you should definitely react to King of Sorrow by ABR.
It’s the first single, I don’t think it’s that bad, but just wait for the rest of the album. On the last album they had dead air and like 1 or 2 other softer songs.
Lost my shit just looking at the description...also, didya check out Alex terrible's cover of BMTH Can You Feel My Heart?...or 21 pilots...you gotta check out his bike in that one..
This reminds of the garbage songs off albums of BFMV and Asking now. Slowly but surely all the bands turn to mainstream pop. Aaaaaaaaa! Jesus take the wheel
chilling in my Uber car listening to another miserable man be as miserable as me about this shity music scene I can see the pain in your face bro and I feel it
fuck that bullshit. if they don't want to save the ship then we will. we need to pump some real music into the metalcore bloodstream... everyone grab your guitars and sticks. its time to get back to practice
this was average . BUT THERE IS A NEW OUTFIT CALLED HOLLOWER .THEY HAVE ONE EP OUT . JUST LISTEN TO AWAKENED BY HOLLOWER ,OFF THEIR DEBUT "FORKING PATH ". SUCH A TALENTED BAND THEY ARE . SURE YOU WILL LIKE THEM ,BROTHER.
I'm so glad you referenced Hollow Bodies because that album was great and now this.....it's depressing.
Preach it buddy

If you haven’t heard it yet, react to Oathbreaker by blessthefall 👀
It’s the first single, I don’t think it’s that bad, but just wait for the rest of the album. On the last album they had dead air and like 1 or 2 other softer songs.
So in other words you don't like when bands grow and mature
I just hope you come across Alive by Bleed from Within, they haven’t released a song in like 5 years until a couple weeks ago
I know you’d like it, it’s like a mix of Architects and parkway drive

Northgodd same I cant wait
Id love to see you review Gravemind- Echo

This shit is horrible!!
React to shadow of intent "the return ".
Bring Me The Horizon intro? They've done nothing worth listening to since... Well "Sleeping Turtle" had a couple of good songs but that's it.
