    Every year should start like this: with a beautiful piece of art created with your own hands ... fearless ... drifting & floating with colours & shapes you love ... and eventually ... BAM ... there is a lovely hand-made piece of happiness!
    I wish you all the best in 2024, Jackie! Have an abundance of wonderful creative moments!
    Hope your family - Archie included - is well!
    Aloha from Berlin ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

    I would never tell you where to stop as a viewer. Heart is so subjective and so personal. Just because I would’ve done more or less doesn’t matter. It’s your peace that you are creating. It is your art. You get the same as when it is finished and I respect that. Even if I would’ve done some thing else. And if I would’ve done some thing else, then I need to get my fanny in gear and create! That is my two cents worth from Tennessee.

    Such a pleasure to watch you create this piece. I love your relaxed attitude to collage. …you make it look very simple! We all have our own ideas and preferences but there are no rights or wrongs in art. As long as the artist is happy with the result, that’s all that matters in my opinion. Great colours in this piece and all the more satisfying to know you created all of the papers. I’m new to your channel and look forward to seeing more. Thanks!

      Hi Gina! I am so happy you found your way here and I appreciate your lovely words. I agree 100% there's no right or wrong in art - it's just too personal. If you watch any of my other videos you'll quickly see that I am focused making art that feels good to me, alone and when other people enjoy what I create, well that's the icing on the cake. 🥰

Such a fabulous studio and elsewhere tip! The 2nd great tiop from you was the Badger Hair Brush! I broke down and bought the biggest one available from da vinci, but I haven't used it yet...... Hi Jackie
    Loved the video, so many ideas, tice paper and the hole punch were new to me so thank you 👍
    Do you varnish your pieces prior to framing at all, or just frame as they are?
    Thanks Sarah

    • @PaintedPaperStudio
      @PaintedPaperStudio  4 месяца назад

      Hi Sarah! Sometimes I varnish, sometimes I don't. If the piece is for me I base it (primarily) on where the piece is going to live. If I know I'm going to put it near a sunny window, or in my kitchen/bath, then I varnish. If it's going into a hallway with no sunlight I usually don't. If it's a piece I'm selling, I will always varnish it. To be honest, I should varnish finished pieces all the time, but sometimes I'm lazy. I hope that helps. 🥰

    Thank you for sharing this fabulous creation. It looks beautiful and vibrant.😍
    I’ve been trying to get hold of the larger 2” hole punches here in the UK but can’t seem to find anyone stocking them, they seem to be based across the pond in your home country. They create mini pieces of art from the larger piece, adding shape and dimension, love them so will keep searching.
    It was also a struggle getting wet strength tissue but managed it just before it started running out. But newspaper print is also a mystery to find here too! On with the search.
    Look forward to seeing your next instalment and hope you had a wonderful holiday.
    Hugs of creative fun and thanks 🙏🏻 🤗🙏🏻

      Andrea, thank you very much for watching and sharing this information. I'm so glad you got your hands on some of the wet strength tissue paper - my fingers are crossed everyday that it will be available soon. I just jumped on the Amazon UK site and found the same bulk newsprint that I use, but it's called "newspaper offcuts," or packing paper there. The 2" circle punch might be a little tricky to find in stores, but I found some on Amazon too (there are a couple of different companies that make them EK Tools and
      Craftelier). I hope that helps. I hope you have the very best year in your creativity! 🥰

    Hi Jackie, I love your work and I’m learning a lot with your videos, thanks! I would like to know, do you frame your collages with a glass?

    • @PaintedPaperStudio
      @PaintedPaperStudio  2 месяца назад

      This is such a great question! I rarely frame my art. If I'm going to display it, I usually create on a deep panel. Having said that, when I do frame collage, I follow this process: I let it cure for a couple of months first, then I double mat it prior to adding the frame. This keeps the art from touching/adhering to the glass. Thank you so much for asking such a great question, Sylvie! 🥰

    However the stop start music was very jarring and totally unnecessary. It can create an overwhelm for many people.

    • @PaintedPaperStudio
      @PaintedPaperStudio  8 месяцев назад +1

      I know - it's very jarring. When I edited it it was at the lowest volume possible -30 db. But when I uploaded it, RUclips adjusted the volume, and it's awful. Most of my videos have no music at all because it can be challenging for many people (myself included) to hear properly over it. But I put it in this time to fill up the space - lesson learned, and I apologize.
