I agree. I’ve turned news off pretty much. I was a news junkie and would watch it on tv and follow on my phone. It was hard to do it at first but it is super because I feel more relaxed and less stressed. I tend to watch these podcast and actual music. Thanks for the great podcast.
I love the honest commentary and questions about family / marriage. So many of us think being a warrior only applies to the job, but can struggle with how to fight for the health and growth of our spouses, children, families.
THE HAND!!! I think my Advanced EMT instructor ran that call back in November of 2017. He said some SEAL’s flipped a ATV and one of them improvised a tourniquet. I’m pretty sure it was somewhere in Burnett County.
Just watched this podcast. Gonna watch it again. JG needs to be a regular. Thank you Jocko for sending the truth through this world, and as I have listened to your podcasts over the years. I gotta tell you, it's better than TV. In my eyes, you're like the Robert T. Kyosaki from Rich Dad Poor Dad, of Leadership. I listen to what you say for what it takes to be a leader, all the many parameters that you explain over hours and hours. Then I go out into the world in which I work and apply those leadership principals by taking command and leading when my Leaders fail which is so often it's outrageous. And many of the people leading our American Job forces, fail at every single turn. Low wages. Low morale. Employees blamed for the faults of their Bosses [Supposed Leaders]. Running horrible schedules, and this is talking about the working class, but even now starting to get into the white collar business classes as well. In literally some industries where you would think leadership would be crucial. The leaders fail at every single turn. They don't take OWNERSHIP for the faults of things gone wrong. They blame everyone else but themselves. They are self serving, false leaders. Then they wonder why their companies go bankrupt, and fail. And this is a huge problem, because we are talking huge fortune 500 list companies, shutting their doors. If these employers took EXTREME OWNERSHIP like you Jocko. Every last single company would not shut it's doors, BUT WOULD BE FIGHTING LIKE HELL TO KEEP THEM OPEN! AND LEADING FROM THE FRONT ON THAT EFFORT. Thank God for you being out there with Echelon Front. That has got to be one of the best Elements for our countries economy, by having these huge musters and waking these Business Leaders up at the crack of dawn sweating their asses off and earning it! SEAL Team Leaders teaching business leaders how to be just that, a Leader that takes Extreme Ownership.
hell yes! your take of the far right and far left was spot on.. Thank you, that was the message that really needed to be put in the proper light like you did.. big love for your guys and your show!
This was a most delightful podcast. Extremely necessary for the honesty and self critique for the sake of self enlightenment and better health. Thank you, guys.
Read Beowulf when I was ten years old. Didn’t understand most of it of course so in reading it again this year the epic seemed doubly powerful. Righteous opening
I read the EO book and it has some good points. Interesting to read and I'd like to express my thanks to you for all your endeavors as well as your vision.
Can you please add a automatic subtitles function into your videos? I learning English, and it will much easier to understand and learn, for people like me. Thank you :) Also, themes of the discussions is very interesting and useful

Wish more people would hear you guys talk about millennials. The main stream thought process on us is increasing worse and worse, when in reality we aren’t any different from those criticizing us. Goes with anything really.
Any generation will critique the previous generations. The boomers and gen X should worry more about how to use their phone, than "what are the millennials going to do to our country?
Mr. Willink, I listen to you to dig deep when the going is tough. Reading Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins. Surprised he hasn’t been on your podcast. I want to hear you and Mr. Charles talk with him.
Andy stumpf and evan hafer on Andy’s podcast talked a bit about Gallagher they also talked about the marine recon killing a sf/green beret for discovering them shortening OP funds. The discussion about these events is towards the last 25 minutes of Andy’s podcast.
James G I think the point was just that the guy found a more efficient way of doing it, and given he was a “millenial” he used an app and a phone to do it
Jocko just sitting there petting that knife! It's like a little kid with his stuffed animal, his comforting nervous calmer! The lighting and him sitting there with it, scares me.
@ 1:31:26 Krill oil which is also a blood thinner helps if you might have high blood pressure. @ 1:55:10 Hey Jocko, some know but they don't want you to know that they know because they too are in the game; Some folks are natural born tacticians.
lesson 1. bring extra water, especially in the desert. lesson 2. never underestimate your opponent lesson 3. don't fuck with a man's weed stash lesson 4. complacency kills, (most motorcycle crashes occur within 5 minutes from home (Hurt report) "You never count your money When you're sittin' at the table There'll be time enough for countin' When the dealin's done" - you're not home safe until you're sitting on the couch, so if you're driving STAY FOCUSED on your task.
Something I thought toward the end 2:22:10 I look up to jockos outgoing personality, his confidence and his attitude. I aspire to be more like him in those ways, and I feel he became more extroverted overtime from his leadership experience . But... I see myself in echo more, and I know the only way I’m going to become more like jocko is to assume a leadership position in my career, just like he did. They’re all alphas, echo just hasn’t had a leadership role like jocko so he’s more of the underdog personality like me. But we all know, in the octagon, echos winning! Underdog mentality for life!
Jocko even mentions/describes himself in the past as being more of an underdog personality. (When he’s talking about being a lower rank, looking at his officers messing up, “oh you can’t show up on time, and you’re leading me? Ha” ) that’s exactly where I’m at and I believe echos at. But just like jocko said, having that mentality and critiquing others makes you hold yourself to a higher standard. (Nobody wants to be the pot calling the kettle black.)
1:51:10 Had a co-worker literally get mad at me for telling him he had a booger hanging out 😂 like bro I'm not giving you crap, if I had a booger I'd expect you to tell me!
The Muster? It should be a requirement for all newly elected officials before they can assume the position. We have seen most lack leadership qualities and use the blame game.
I know alot of folks who listen to this podcast served in the armed forces, I have a question for you guys , I never served but I like to stand tall before my flag during the national anthem I guess at attention so I guess my question is , is that inappropriate since I never served ??
What a fucken letter to write for s daughter. Plagiarize is right, the moment I heard that I wanted to plagiarize but I can’t let myself do that. Very well done.
Jason should start his own shows...he is so funny and direct....he has talent for show business or as an actor! ( side comment: seems like Jocko is bit tired/or bit emotional...perhaps less sleep or just some sip of whisky the night before? just noticing his voice, nothing wrong with that...seems more human like this )
I agree. I’ve turned news off pretty much. I was a news junkie and would watch it on tv and follow on my phone. It was hard to do it at first but it is super because I feel more relaxed and less stressed. I tend to watch these podcast and actual music. Thanks for the great podcast.
These podcasts with Jason are the best. Thank you gents 🤙
What a stand-up guy Jason is. All around solid discussions on so many great topics. Listened to this one twice already.
I am a lady and non military but I love the podcast and this one is particularly brilliant. Thank you to all three of you!
I love the honest commentary and questions about family / marriage. So many of us think being a warrior only applies to the job, but can struggle with how to fight for the health and growth of our spouses, children, families.

That sounds interesting.
Please elaborate
We certainly need Jason on the podcast again someday.
Loved all these podcast with Jason Gardner!
He seems like a guy you definitely want to be friends with.
Jason is a badass. He’s good at articulating his stories.

A great fear to instill in our enemies!

If someone teaches you something, say thanks. Thanks for teaching me that Mr Jocko.
"Everything is awesome" Jocko with the Lego movie quote
There is so much good comedy between Jocko and Mr. Charles....its top notch!! Roger. Get some laughs!!
Love Jocko talking with the knife in his hand! haha
Zachary Scanlon for sure, just casually handling a knife during the interview.
Echo we love your excerpt editing!
Liking before watching.
Farting before pooping.
I read the EO book and it has some good points. Interesting to read and I'd like to express my thanks to you for all your endeavors as well as your vision.

Someone needs to Animate that Hand story. Great Podcast
i want to see that so bad
There’s a picture of it on his Instagram
Jocko, wondering what model pocket knife ? ZT 0566 ? Thanks. Another great podcast. Gardner get some !
Mr. Willink, I listen to you to dig deep when the going is tough.
Reading Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins. Surprised he hasn’t been on your podcast. I want to hear you and Mr. Charles talk with him.
Don’t hold your breath... Yea Goggins was a SEAL but I’m under the impression he’s not a team guy.
Would not be a good episode.
Yeah he confessed to being pretty solo. In his book. I figured cuz he’s different it could be interesting to hear those differences sorted out
Joel Jackson why you think so?
David Goggins is about himself. His entire book was "me". Jocko is concerned with himself but how he functions as a team. They would butt heads.
Jocko, what knife are you holding in this podcast?
Bandwidth
What about Eddie Gallagher? I'd love to hear your insight and opinion. This seems like a fubar situation
Andy stumpf and evan hafer on Andy’s podcast talked a bit about Gallagher they also talked about the marine recon killing a sf/green beret for discovering them shortening OP funds. The discussion about these events is towards the last 25 minutes of Andy’s podcast.
1:26 i didn't get the story. The did the inventory. N with 2 days technology did fast so the "Min" have it easy? Is that the point?

This man scared Jocko so much that he had to hold a knife for most of the podcast. Mad props on making Jocko nervous.

Jocko quoted the lego movie. good.
Echo's arms are sick.
Jocko is so hardcore he plays with a knife while talking.
Bro I kept wondering whether or not Jason was thinking "Is this big gorilla gonna jump across the table and stab me?"
1st comment! Can't wait to listen!

Never pet a pouter. Listen to him in order to evaluate whether the complaint is legit, but never, never, never pet a pouter.
Love jocko. But i imagine him reading a bedtime stoty to his kids, andcthey cry themselves to sleep. He could make anything sound scary and dark.
They cut echo off on his point but oh well
