It was a huge crowd-pleaser last year and will be again when it returns. The two male stars--Jac Yarrow and Jason Donovan--had been announced to repeat their roles in the summer 2020 run that had to be cancelled.
You may very well get to see this production. Ben Brantley gave it a nice review in the Times, and it's possible that the return engagement in London could lead to a Broadway mounting. It would seem like just the kind of thing for when Broadway returns.
@@auroraspiderwoman5886 I was saying the same thing the other day about how after 9/11 we got a lot of musical comedy and familiar revivals as producers were hesitant to go all in with heavier dramatic fare for a while. Thanks for the information!
Why didn't they give him his coat at the end when he sings for it? That's always a great final moment. I've appeared in two Productions of Joseph. So much fun. This was great.
Because this is the London Palladium version, they only use the coat when he receives it in the song Joseph's Coat and when he is betrayed by his brothers shortly after, UK Tour is far better for it's imagination and screenplay, decorations.. Jac Yarrow would do well in that version then this one with girls and boys being the 11 other brothers... gotta be diverse I guess.....
Give me my coloured coat..... because some kids ran off with it when they stole my chariot. Then we stood on some boxes for no context or plot reason. And my biggest annoyance is they didn’t reduce the stage size. It’s too big and open that when the full cast is there there’s still space to swings cats.
THANK YOU! One of the strangest directing choices I've ever seen. The show ends with the entire cast boldly singing "give me my colored coat," in a show where the coat is in the title for crying out loud, and yet there's no coat! It seems like some pretty basic Chekhov's gun stuff that a story called "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" should not end with a coatless Joseph.
In my view, one of the 2021 narrators outshone Sheridan. Her name? The amazing Linzi Hateley. The quality of her voice is much more refined. And she deserved every bit of the applause she received. Just amazing.
@@officialmichaelcarrasco ah okay, look I agree I think in this matter (entertainment industry) they need to consider the facts of history and the real Joseph But we can’t take away that Jac Yarrow who is playing Joseph in this piece will have worked hard for his career And obviously he suited the role based on his voice and performance Hope that makes sense!
GO GO GO JOSEPH!!!
I'll second that---yay!
Saw the Toronto transfer of this production's UK tour in late January of this year for my birthday, as an early present. Loved every moment of it.

Wonderful pun (as usual)! Thank you for uploading.

Sheridan Smith and Jac Yarrow are so good in this show :D
Wow, never knew Sheridan played the Narrator! She sounds great
If you think she sounds great, try a Linzi Hateley performance - just magical!

That’s very true but this is just a musical version, it’s not completely based around the whole story 😊
@@camavfc0414 You're right I forgot...entertainment is rarely based on BIPOC. 🙄
