Just for fact.Rafi sahab was very unwell while singing this song but despite of that he sang with immense intensity and passion he pushed himself to last bit of taar saptak (highest of three octaves) that his vocal cords began to bleed. 50 years ago I was a teenager living in Nigeria. When I watched the movie and listened to this song, I kept wishing that I had the resources to travel to India to meet this great man, Mohammed Rafi Sahab. Just for fact.Rafi sahab was very unwell while singing this song but despite of that he sang with immense intensity and passion he pushed himself to last bit of taar saptak (highest of three octaves) that his vocal cords began to bleed. He spitted blood and could not sing for 10 days.That was his passion passion for signing.
