You covered this perfectly, it's like you absolutely heard every single little thing John recorded in the track. Fantastic.

Thank you for nailing the open E's at about 1:55.
The way those set up for the kick drum in the verse.
So many covers get that wrong and play with the guitar.

Haha thanks, yeah I know what you mean! It's a very cool section - the bass alternates with the guitar, and the snare alternates with the keys... And then it's very satisfying when the bass and kick finally sync up!

Absolutely magnificent as usual. Question: are those the stock SB4 pickups?

Thanks man! Yes they are - I haven't made any modifications to the bass since I bought it

Hi! I am looking at purchasing this bass this month or the Jackson SBX Spectra IV. This esp sounds awesome. How is the tone versatility on this bass?

Hey, oh nice! I haven’t tried too many basses in my life but the difference in tone and versatility between this bass and my old precision bass (that features in some older videos) is huge! The active pickups in this sound so much better than the old passive pickups. You can be very versatile with tone on this bass by sweeping between the bridge and neck pickups and adjusting the bass, mid & treble eq.
I believe the Jackson bass has these features and more - like being able to switch between active and passive pickups plus a treble or volume boost switch or something… whether that’s better or unnecessarily complicated I don’t know! (I can’t think of a time I’d need those features myself in addition to what this bass has)
But I’d recommend this bass to anyone, I love its sound, its playability and feel… can’t think of any negatives tbh.

Ernie Ball regular slinky - they are my go-to strings
