Whenever you have the time, a distance test of the A10, A20 and one of your Lectros would be really useful since I can’t rent anything but Lectrosonics where I live

Thanks Carlos, I just picked up a couple DBSM’s for my kit. At some point I’ll compare the two and share those results!

This was a fascinating watch, and I’m very interested to hear more about the functionality of the app and also interested in battery life. About to dive into the written review now! On range alone, this is extremely impressive and I can’t wait to hear how real-world use goes! I’m all lectro right now and looking for a change from DSQD

I've never been bothered by lack of articulating antennas, I bought right angle sma connectors for my Wisycom MCR54 but I typically use the Betso bow ties when using the bag just to avoid switching them out. Just bought the MTP60 so using a transmitter with bluetooth on my setup is new too but maybe until new fw I still much like the old school menu with buttons options (especially that the MTP40 differ where the batteries are and much more lightweight).
Love learning about other systems so your videos have been beyond helpful. Hope the A20 keep working out wonderfully.

Thanks Freddie! I’ve heard great things about the Wisycom system, hope to try it out sometime!

Impressive range for that power output

You’re lucky if that’s your workplace! I’m unlikely to be filming in such a quiet RF environment, so a walk test in the city would be more representative.

Three walk tests are fun, but your right that RF robustness is key and environmental factors play a huge role.

Thank you for you videos Michael
While the formfactor is really one of the best, if not the best (I recently purchased an used audio ltd 2040 minitx with similair shape to complement my wisys for tricky costumes) - the battery life would bother me too much on the a20 mini. Just a slightly bigger form factor and you can reach the halfday with Lectro SSM and even remote capabilities on Zaxcom ZMT4, Shure ADX1M or the just released Wisy MTP61.
That walktest was really impressive on whips tho

Thank you Dustbrigade! Just saw that MTP61 come through, looks really intriguing! Love that ZMT4 profile and 48v phantom but am married to that super slot system!

Not poo pooing on SD but I'll take the Pepsi distance challenge with my SMDWB / LR. The A20 looks to be really really nice but does not having buttons on the tx scare you like it does me? What if your phone dies or takes a swim in a lake?

Would like to see that range comparison too Ding Dong! And it sounds like you and I are close to the same age remembering that Pepsi challenge! 😁

I'm probably not going to buy into the A20 series, but if I was then I think I'd just always bring a spare Android "just in case". (you can pick up a cheap one that does the job with the app for a hundred bucks)

I have to say you make killer videos! Great production value. But that monitor inset on lower left I find distracting. The A20 mini looks super nice in many ways, I don’t mind no hinged antenna because it seems the articulation mechanics are never very good and are not reliable over time. The one thing about the A20 that concerns me is the 3 hour battery life. My old Lectro analog TX will go 10 hours on one 9v battery.

Was a bit surprised at how long those antennas are! 😲
But then I remembered you're using 493.800MHz, the long antennas makes sense now.
Walkie Talkies with their high wattage must be quite an issue if you're using talent wireless down near the 400MHz range?

Raisins are not as much of an issue as one might think in my experience!

Should I watch out for dates, cranberries, and prunes as well? 😲

So now that 2 months have gone by since originally posting this, I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on them? I keep coming back to this system (now the Astral wireless ecosystem) in my considerations moving into digital wireless.

Hi Marlon, I’ve since installed the two channels I own into my PSC6 pack on my Cantar mini. Preliminary results are very good RF robustness wise which is the biggest selling point to me. Bluetooth connection can be a bit dodgy but is manageable. Sound utilities and talent like the form factor of the A20 mini and sound is superb. I’m impressed enough where I ordered two more channels and pre ordered a Nexus for the big cart., we’ll see how it goes!
