my fave sesh yet...
I am not completing my October art goal-- my hands are quitters. Arthritis is rough. Still, I got what I wanted out of it, which was pushing past a place where I had a lot of negative voices in my head about my creative output. A daily pen and ink drawing practice in which I couldn't erase lines but had to make the best of them helped me break out of that rut, and return to my primary art (weaving) without the mental static.
I also learned that representational art isn't my thing. At all. I'm interested in the complex patterns that emerge from natural processes, like the way veins form in a leaf, and the way water cuts streams and rivers into hills and mountains, and the way living things and rocks look under microscopes. Insects and moss in my camera's macro lens. The many layered branching patterns a forest canopy spreads across the sky. That stuff is where I get my artistic "juice." I didn't really know that before this little exercise.
Anyway. I have finished the design and planning for a couple upcoming projects, and should have a loom ready to weave in the next week. :-) I'll go back to digital drawing when I can hold a stylus again, because I think it's good cross training for my creative brain. And I will keep watching what you do because it inspires me. :-)
I see creating (in most forms), in my case writing, as humans being the closest to an omnipotent being as possible. When you create something a painting, statue, story, ... it's you manifesting something that didn't exist until then, the Impossible becomes reality and the surreal becomes commonplace. In my case this out-of-control world becomes bearable, and I get a little control back. So perfect your art people it will only make you more powerful.

So much inspiration!
💜💜💜
I really love this. Been missing drawing for a while and will be getting back into it in a big way soon. Thank you for you're words I agree with everything you said. We all need to draw for ourselves 1st, the rest will follow. Love from Ireland.
I think you stated it perfectly. You're art is for you firstly, then the rest will fall into place.
Amazing Miss Betsi…..you are doing wonderful art!
Thank you so much! It's been a fun challenge this year.
This is amazing! I see your continued aesthetic AND I see a newness in style. 😁
Thank you, Glad you like it! I'm working hard this Inktober 😅
Your art is absolutely stunning! Thank you!
Thank you so much! 💜💜💜
This one is really great. Thank you so much!
I'm glad you enjoyed it 🌟
Thank you for sharing your talent. I was told at the beginning of my zentangle odyssey to not use pencil and I thought that was wrong so I shared very little because I start everything with pencil as do artists. A pencil sketch gives one the bones in which to add the body of the artwork. I love this and I am encouraged to continue, thank you
It is definitely okay to use pencil first, thank you for sharing your thoughts!
WOW! So beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!

I'm so glad! It's nice to find inspiration from different sources.
Wow. Lo schizzo a matita non mi piaceva. E invece, come hai iniziato a disegnare, è diventato bellissimo! Brava .😊👍❤
