What's your favourite form of GT racing?
GTE or GT500
GT500 😎
Carrera Cup!
GT2
Those GT500 cars. Mighty impressive
Proves how crazy GT500 is.
Its like having a Formula One designer mindset while working on road cars.
GT500 atm is like locked into Turbo I4's like F1 into Turbo Hybrid V6's, but for touring car's they're insane. As if the past wasn't insane enough.
@@gdmyaThose are definitely the fastest I4s on the planet
@@fishii8237 those i4t's are crazy, they run 3.5 Bar of boost, oh and by the way, they're also used in Super Formula, which is basically the F1 of Japan, although it's slower than F1, it's faster than F2
The thing i love about GT cars is all the different cars/manufacturers and the different engine noises screaming through the circuits they race at. It’s amazing
Ahh yes this was a nice comparison video. Though it would be pretty cool if the old ALMS cars were included. Maybe even the GT1 cars too! That would be an epic race.
Was looking for that too. 90s 2000s Gt1 era was sick.
2018 dtm cars too
I plan to do an historic version ;)
gt1 was a whole different beast
That's why gran turismo classifies gt500 and dtm as group 2, gt3 and gte as group 3 and gt4 as group 4
Better classication than real life tbh😂
Thats why i love GT500!!!
So, the new GT2 class is basically GTC, what a surprise...
I've been during years waiting for this epic duel. Thank you
Thank you for watching!!
What about the old DTM cars, before it became a GT3 series?
They would be similar to the GT500.
@@DMGx1993 or he means even older DTM cars. Like the 190E Evo II?
Same as GT500, in 2019 GT500 and DTM even did a cross over and raced together. Look up Super GT x DTM on youtube
Those are neither GT cars or current unfortunately 😕
They're pretty much the same underneath as they also use Class One regulations, but GT500 still edges out Class One DTM cars by having a far stickier tyres (the result of an ongoing tyre war) and also aero & engine development (at that time)
Great video showing the differences between the classes
GT300 has different cars along with pure GT3
I know, but pace-wise are identical so I decided not to include them. There's different kinds of GT300 cars too so I decided to keep it simple😂
The GT500 car destroyed the field there big time. No Wonder they beat DTM at Fujii back then.
DTM was actually using the same regulation as Super GT back then (Class One), but Super GT has a far stickier tyres because the series has tyre war between four manufacturers.
@@AbrahamArthemius However back when DTM had Class One regulations, they allowed DRS and a push-to-pass system, that GT500 doesn't have.
Honestly hope that they add the DRS in GT500, they have way too much downforce in the straights.
GT500 should be made international and maybe be called GT1 to fit in with naming of other categories
The next can be with prototypes or maybe with formula cars
Definitely!!
Let's make it even bigger:
- DTM from 90s and 00s, when Class 2 was not at today's levels;
- GT1 for LeMans, with some representatives of unlucky cars such as the Lotus Elise;
- GT1 for FIA GT, with the MC12 paired with another couple of cars such as Murcielago and Saleen;
- GT300, apparently equivalent to GT3;
- older specs of GT3, such as the F430, for comparison;
- Corvette(various generations would fit truth be told) and Riley Ford from IMSA;
- Gr.5 cars;
- FXX(K too) and 599XX, plus other trackday versions of hypercars.
- V8 Supercars and Superstars(a now defunct series).
Now you have your recipe for GranTurismo-inspired races.
This video is to series that exist nowadays
@@kanizmajorys2572 with GTE freshly suppressed?
@@il-ma.le. yeah, but they are still racing in 2023
and also include the historic Group B, Group 5, Group 4 and Group 3 FIA Appendix J cars
@@chenyeanmingtakumi9033 tried to leave out on purpose groups associated with rally, and Group 5 was my 3rd-to-last proposal.
It's funny because
It's basically GT500 vs GT300
(GT300 also use GT3 & GTE)
Love this videos
Glad you like them!
Group C cars would SMOKE all the Gt500 class!💪🔥🤑
You forgot the DTM from 2019 with the car like Audi RS5 Turbo DTM that was like fighting against the GT500 categorie in a moment ;)
Love those cars but DTM cars are neither GTs or current😞
@@THEWINDTUNNEL If it was in the same class (in a time) as the GT500, it is because it's like a GT class, no ? If I'm with my logic ?
But, could you do a special video with all those type of cars and classes with this little gap between GT500 and DTM (2019) and also adding the GT300 class with the GT3 that were racing against those GT300 also ?
@@rafale-fg8eo gt500 and dtm used to use the same rules, but dtm was a touring car series, and gt500 was a gt class, the cars happened to be very similar so they decided to merge the rules together, technically gt500 is not a gt class
@@TurnOne350 ok, thanks for this information 😀
@@TurnOne350 DTM hasn't been a touring car series since the original series closed it doors in '96
Maybe another video with only touring cars and stock cars? Even rally cars
he had made Stock Cars
Absolutely! Open-wheel, stock cars, rally, offroad, touring cars, dirt racing are all in the making!!
Not quite that was abou the evoulution of the NASCAR Cup Series. This one's about the current types of X kind of racing. Will do one video comparing the current forms of stock car racing!

missed gt1 and gt300
GT1 is no longer alive. The M4 GT3 competes in the GT300 class without being modified
Basically a gt500 car has same cornering speed as a 2014-2016 f1 car but has less top speed
Pretty much. Crazy machines!
@@THEWINDTUNNEL that's why i love them
I never quite understood the difference between GTE and GT3. They say that GTE is faster than GT3, but in some racing games, like Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo, both categories race together.
GTE was for official/factory team-based (Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette, Aston Martin...) while GT3 is for privateers (WRT, Manthey, Black Falcon...). Even though they aren't that different in looks and speed (GTEs have a bit more aero and power and custom-made tyres so lot's of testing) the difference in price is huge. A GTE team has twice the budget a GT3 team. That's why GTE is disappearing next year and why in some games they are in the same class: Because they very similar. Have a look to the Ferrari 488 GT3 and the Ferrari 488 GTE. Pretty much identical
Curious to see how the AMG One would perform against these cars. It lapped the Nordschleife faster than a GT3 car.
Stay tuned...
Those laps only include the Nordschleife though, the GT cars do the Nordschleife + GP track.
@@Maenfy I guess it's impossible to say which one is faster because they never race on the same layout. But this video allows for a close enough comparison:
ruclips.net/video/-qs7oonyQOQ/видео.html
The GT3 has a lot more downforce but the One makes up for it with the DRS on straights, so that's interesting.
GT500 is the LMP1 of GT cars 😂
They are insane right?
Hope to see trans am in the future, and maybe others
Sure! For the stock cars video!
what laptimes did you get? I managed a 2:00.020 (I think) in a gt500 with 30kg of ballast in a league race. I know sub 2 is possible
I didn't try but a 2:00 is an extremely good laptime, well done!
Man U should put the Porsche gt2 rs clubsport instead of the KRM gt2
They are as fast GT2 has BoP
MC12 GT1 X GT500!!!!
If you sub you automatically become a rizzler
NOW DO THIS WITH LEMANS
He already did
Le Mans classes?
@@THEWINDTUNNEL YES
It would be better if you did time attacks and not races like this
Agreed. Then they could make a YT playlist for times around a specific track, and see the comparison between them, as well as give more accurate results on who's faster over one lap.
No GT300?
Was thinking whether to include them or not but as you know GT3 cars race in that same class and performance-wise are identical so I decided to not include them to avoid confusing people😂
I find it confusing and kind of funny that GT3 is faster than GT2. Okay, it’s clear. Bigger number = more speed. Okay.
But GT2 is faster than GT4???? Who’s idea is this😂
Yeah that's confusing😂 GT3 and GT4 have around for over 10 year. GT2 is newer and instead of renaming GT4 to GT5 or calling ot GT3.5 they called it GT2. They are more powerful than GT3 son in terms of power the name is right
@@THEWINDTUNNEL hey, what make/model of car is the GT2?
You missed stock car
A stock car isn't a GT car. I will do this same video with all kinds of stock cars
Are you also just racing
Yeah!!!
