Started stacking a little platinum last week seems like a good time to invest in platinum it’s historically been 2.4 times price of gold & now it’s 1/2 the price of gold 🤷🏽♂️✌️
I remember when Platinum just slightly tipped gold and all the card companys came out with the Platinum cards and rappers were singing about it. The price of it went through the roof over night until I swear someone did something to stop it. If you had it at the time and sold out you became rich overnight 😂📈.
Every country carries gold because IT IS MONEY....UNIVERSAL money where its not a dollar, Ruble, Pound.....in the end, gold is a universal currency without country exchange rates like paper money
Another consideration for Platinum is supply. Platinum is mined significantly in South Africa and Russia. South Africa has ongoing power issues, and Russia has a military conflict going on; these things hamper the mining of platinum, resulting in supply issues. Less platinum, higher price.
Bottom line is this on Platinum, all it takes is another Kardashian sibling when they grow up to say “Look at my jewelry and engagement ring made in platinum retro 90”s and BAM it’s thousand over or two thousand over gold like it was in the 2000’s when the US mint came out with the liberty platinum coin. Platinum... 🤔 Gold is and always has been the standard. It's interesting the various viewpoints. But platinum is a very cool metal too. Just doesn't have golds density or transmissivity. Sorry to put this so bluntly but, gold is an idea. Historically, Gold has been used to pay War reparations. The currencies of those who are defeated in Wars, tend to lose tremendous value. Hence, the victors have historically demanded to be repaid in Gold.

No matter how you look at it Platinum is just an industrial metal with 40% of the demand being the automotive industry. The Platinum for Palladium substitution is one factor. Ultimately unless some new industrial use case arises the price won't do anything but go lower. The metal is very expensive and hard to work. Rightly or wrongly it simply does not have the same status as gold when it comes to being viewed as a store of value in it's own right. By all means play it like you would play any other commodity in the market but for me if I wanted exposure I'd just buy an index/ETF
