OSU from Australia. To all who watch this Judd is just an average kid who followed his dreams. Hard work and dedication is all that's required. Kyokushin is the last form of true combat. True Budo. I didn't find out about it till I was 30. When I was 42 I did a 40 man kumite. 40 fights minute and a half each. One word it was HARD. Outside of my time in the army the hardest thing I have ever done. Judd did a 100 man kumite. Only a select few people in the world have completed
actually, they do train head punch, the rule that not allow head punch is only in Kyokushin tournament, but some full contact karate tournament allow head punch when the fighters wear the gloves like this ruclips.net/video/mtQKYkmC4ZQ/видео.html
In knockdown competition rules, it's too messy and can end bouts too early. Reid Sensei most certainly trains you to strike to the face! I'd recommend going to a seminar with him or bringing him in for one heartily.
donny holman yes..some restrictions. original Kyokushin back to 1940-50 was more brutal. Face strike and groin were usual. Fight was from few seconds to a minute.. one single punch in a face made guys unable to continue fight.. Oyama made rules. No strikes in face and groin. What you can see a Oyama Kyokushin...strong fast and huge endurance. P.S.Any competition Kyokushin vs kudo or vs Wushy Sanda....they loose .. Boxing and wrestling skills primitive and not completely developed. I am not talking abaut Kickboxing or Muay Tai....they win 100%. Kyokushin strong no doubt but far away from reality.

Judd Reid is big on training face punches and other strikes to the head. That was a big part of the seminar of his I went to.
