Tamaki is the epitome of “straight” male. Effortlessly flirting with the boys, but as soon as a girl he’s interested in is involved, all of that experience goes out the window.
I love the fact haruhi's personality isn't a pick me like most female leads in shojou animes. Her not caring that she's looked as a boy or a girl has a back story and things to do with the death of her mom and how her dad is. And still she's feminine over many things in the manga it's just adorable she's loveable I love her.
The dub's horribly dated decisions on Haruhi's dad notwithstanding, the series itself gave a surprising amount of respect to him as a character, who was allowed to be openly bi and still have a thriving marriage and Haruhi is only embarrassed by his typical dad antics and not his crossdressing.
This anime started it all for me, it's like a rabbit hole towards the world of anime. It holds a very special place in my heart.. oh and Fruits Basket too! 🥰
i frickin love Maaya Sakamoto. You have moments like this where shes very cute and effiminate and then you have roles like Ciel Lightning and Jean Alter where shes a total hard ass. Her range is on point max respect
The manga had so much character development, even beyond this story, it's a shame the anime didn't go all the way to the end. The twin's tale especially had me in tears. I loved Hikaru, he's my favorite character and I'm still a little sad he didn't end up with Haruhi, but overall the manga was really good. Maybe it will have a Fruits Basket-like extended remake one day? We can only hope. 🥺🥺🥺

I love the fact haruhi's personality isn't a pick me like most female leads in shojou animes. Her not caring that she's looked as a boy or a girl has a back story and things to do with the death of her mom and how her dad is. And still she's feminine over many things in the manga it's just adorable she's loveable I love her.
The dub's horribly dated decisions on Haruhi's dad notwithstanding, the series itself gave a surprising amount of respect to him as a character, who was allowed to be openly bi and still have a thriving marriage and Haruhi is only embarrassed by his typical dad antics and not his crossdressing.

The manga had so much character development, even beyond this story, it's a shame the anime didn't go all the way to the end. The twin's tale especially had me in tears.
I loved Hikaru, he's my favorite character and I'm still a little sad he didn't end up with Haruhi, but overall the manga was really good. Maybe it will have a Fruits Basket-like extended remake one day? We can only hope. 🥺🥺🥺
I saw official art on a box cover and I didn't recognize Hikaru because it was showing him after the point where he decides to start dying his hair and be his own person from Kaoru
