Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I understand why Twilight is W.I. Mouse in these covers. This is not Twilight Sparkle; this is Twilight Tragedy.
This is essentially a Twilight that, in a manic state of misery, unintentionally transformed into a form akin to her Discorded counterpart. Unlike her Discorded form, though, she wasn't averted from friendship and magic. She was averted from positive feelings in general, leading to a depression that could only be cured through powerful magic. She doesn't crave death like most versions of Suicide Mouse do, but she doesn't wish to get any better, and would rather mope around and bawl her eyes out than spend time with her friends or do anything productive.

@@IAmTheSupremeX. I said that Twilight Tragedy was being mixed with Pibby Twilight. Pibby Twilight is just Twilight Sparkle infected by the Darkness. While it's implied that the Darkness infects the mind, especially if one is weak-minded and easy to manipulate like Bun Bun, the Darkness does not rely on particular emotions to infect its victims. It wouldn't matter if this Twilight was depressed or not, it would still affect her mind and body.
Though the reason why Pibby Twilight is used in place of Drugged W.I. Mouse is because Pibby Twilight is the most recognizable horror version of Twilight in FNF. It's not the only one, as The Experiments of Twilight Sparkle exists, but it's not nearly as well known.
