With all of that noisy, japanese mixing, it's nearly impossible to get that even on pretty nice studio monitors. And, well, it's quite common way to add some 'fatness' to vocal stems. That 'feature' is pretty common in pop songs.

This is Metal gear a franchise of movie quality scenes and music. Even if MGRR isn't a full KJP, Platinum did a great job to make it worthy as part of the whole franchise and infact the true end of the series post Solid Snake. And we need a sequel, not a damn pachinko game.

The thing is that vocal is not the track. The track is the mixture of instruments and they may sound properly only in the way they are mastered. Here we can see the mastered vocal, which lacks other instruments, so it may be percepted not like it is in the track (sorry for my eng)
Well at least for me, since when the vocals appear it's the best part, they should be heard in their full audio.

The sound design for each song is incredible with it's harmonization, it's a shame that the backing track practically deafens it out, meaning a lot of people won't be able to appreciate these songs to their full extent

The fact that the entire soundtrack's vocals use tricks like doubling voice, whispering in the background, or reverb adds so much depth and effect to it.

UPDATE: I am alive. I ordered a box of 24 Mexican Coca Colas in glass bottles and drank all of them while playing Warframe and blasting the MGR:R soundtrack for those 3 days. I was a fucking moron and I'm genuinely surprised I didn't wind up in hospital.
I've been awake a very long time, approaching three days. I'm just so beyond 'tired', it's kind of like being really focused and really sluggish all at once. Hard to explain, I guess, but it's an odd state of mind. I sat down and listened to this a few times with my eyes closed, like really listened, and it's doing weird shit to my body, like there's chills and static matching the music and there's these bursts of emotion in my head that are incredibly intense, but feel more like something I'm observing passive rather then being my own feelings.
Is this what it's like to ask the void if anyone is out there, and almost hear the echo of an answer?

probably frustration with her circumstances. I still think Mistral is quite sad, she basically got her life ripped away and after spending so long devoting herself to avenging her family, she had nothing else to live for. she got robbed of a normal life because of the war economy she now serves.
All of these still sound FANTASTIC as just vocals.
