There are two female characters: Erica Ricci, whose weapons are based on handguns and conventional weapons; and Sally Inohara, whose weapons are based on ninja weapons. Erica is your Arcade Mode reward, while you need 55 Gold Eagle medals to get Sally.

Limited run games just announced a physical release of contra anniversary collection. There is a limited window to order a physical copy of the game. The time to order ends june 12th.

Cos most of the player 2 controls couldn't match. I know my keyboard couldn't allow me to shoot diagonally (ie up/down & left/right) due to its combination of keys
I don't know of a way to change the controls in the game itself, but I did use Xpadder to map some keys to the right buttons on the gamepads. I wasn't able to get the controls exactly as I wanted, though. I never tried playing this game with a keyboard.

The game did detect both of my controllers, but they were both Xbox 360 controllers. The keys for the second player are also on the keyboard, so it should be possible to use the second gamepad using something like Xpadder or joy2key. I don't have any idea how to get the game to just detect the controller normally.

As a kid. No. It's not easy at all. The life default as 3. (2% or 5% chance they change 3 Lives into 99 Lives.) The Konami code didn't work that arronmunroe respond.

That Chinese Contra game is pretty faithful to the NES Contra
Never seen this one. Pretty much a spot on remake from what I can tell. Only gripe is the weapon effects drown out the music. Thanks for posting!

How did you make it "free play" mode? I keep having to insert coins (using the spacebar) when I die.
Press the F1 key to open the service menu and you can find free play in "coin options".
