Most people don’t realise it, but the secret to retiring comfortably is finding a way to make returns while your money works for you. My dad, as I remember, started saving for retirement quite late, but I know he was making more than 10k returns from his investment monthly and it was completely passive.

Rising prices have affected my intention of retiring at 62, working part-time, and building my savings. I'm worried about whether individuals who weathered the 2008 financial crisis found it less challenging than my current situation. The stock market's volatility, coupled with a reduced income, is making me anxious about having enough for retirement.

    What is retirement -
    1. Money freedom
    2. Time Freedom
    3. Location Freedom
What you need to do to achieve this -
    1. Do Smart Hardwork, Try to be in Top 5-10% in the field- Earn good corpus
    2. Learn investing - Try to get ~15% on your corpus
    3. Dont Overspend - Or you repeat from point 1

One big lesson folks need to learn is listen to what others have to say but make your own informed decisions in the end. I quit working for corporations 3 yrs back cause of personal reasons which included heath conditions of people in my family including myself, burnout, toxic work culture, etc. I was passively investing for 10 yrs plus prior to quitting and am now into investing as a home run business. Have absolutely no regrets about quitting. Making decent money with total flexibility & freedom and not having to be answerable to anyone. My passion for music, interest in geopolitics, history, finance, economics, audio, tech, investing, etc. apart from spending time with & helping family keeps me really occupied. So its different strokes for different folks.....whatever floats your boat. Dont purely go by what others think and say to you.

I think the three perspectives of freedom are quite utilitarian. Freedom must be understood from the perspective of control over one's own mind. There is nothing wrong with having financial, locational, and time freedom. But if your mindset is such that you don't want to endure difficulties but rather run away from location or time commitments, then it could be potentially problematic.

Good video Akshat. I'm 40 and I achieved FIRE (Financially Independent Retired Early) status about 5 years ago.
Retiring from corporate life has its perks as well as drawbacks. Because of some good money management I was able build a decent corpus and leave a detestable corporate job. I had just enough money to leave a company that was slowly killing me. The relief that came with knowing that I wouldn't have to see the face of my horrendous boss is unmatched.
In the past five years, I've stopped and smelled the roses, did yoga, meditation, learned how to cook and to ride a bike. It has all been fun.
Although I must say, Inflation is a bitch. That couple with life's uncertainties (unplanned expenditure) won't let you stay on your behind too long. As you said in your video. Achieving FIRE does not mean a person should become idle and waste the rest of his life. FIRE is just an opportunity to quit the undesired and move on to something meaningful.
Today I run a tiny channel much like yours and hope it will one day generate revenue for me.
Good luck to you and me too.

If you give yourself some more time you will get over this phase and not feel the need to get back to making money. That’s when you start experiencing true freedom. While most emphasis is on achieving financial freedom there are hardly any input on post retirement life.
You first go through the honey moon romanticized experience of being free, it does not last long, then it hits you, wasting time, feeling unproductive … etc at this stage you might keep wanting to get back to corporate work life …. however if you do not go with that …that leads you to search for meaning … and after much struggle you start finding meaning and purpose but then you struggle to keep at it as you have to learn a new skill finding balance … until you finally do find a routine that fits you like a glove … that’s when you start enjoying your freedom truly…. At this stage you won’t even consider getting back to the prison of a work life once again ….

@sunilj10 Thanks for writing back Sunil Ji. I'm 100% sure I won't go back to corporate life (unless koi majboori ho) Nevertheless, I definitely want to continue working. Running a RUclips channel is hard work but extremely satisfying and I've heard it pays off for people who persist. It seems to me you have also achieved FIRE, Is that correct? Please share your experience. ☺️

Your Teaching is like putting regular water to seed which will grow and will return lots of fruit. And that means you can feed only few time and few people. but if you can teach many people and many time. cutting long story short. Thanks God Bless you.

My purpose of retiring is to be able to pursue my hobbies (there are many), my passion projects and probably travel as well. So I'm not worried about that. It's just the money that I'm worried about and that is the only thing that matters as far as the Retirement is concerned.

Guys, This is his personal opinion. People who retire early (FIRE), dont just sit idle, they retire early to do whatever they like irrespective of whether it bring lots of money or less amount of money. He is missing the whole point. "Work gives you meaning"- thats a stupid statement. One has to find meaning in his life and what he does whether he is retired or not.

Akshat already has more money for retirement. If he still not convinced with your current wealth, then you are chasing money to become a billionaire one day, and he will not retire any time. So he should not talk about retirement, just talk about equity investing.

What a lot of people need is a good short term break to rejuvenate after working 12-15 years continuously, unfortunately such a thing is very difficult in corporate life unless one is laid off…..let’s be honest, the work environment is not always conducive and yes burn out is real and it’s all leading to thought of early retirement….not everyone is man of steel or Duracell….!!

His recent videos are full of negativity and lack informative content.

I get a feeling that Akshat is going to reduce his engagement on RUclips and start focusing on managing his hedge fund … that’s what he means by getting back to work force. He probably wants to set up shop more formally in that area. In my personal view it might be something that will lead him to lose that freedom of time and location…

Hi @AkshatZayn can you please create a vodeo on how you are managing your kids education with the freedom you explained. What is your plan about that?

    • @sunilj10
      @sunilj10 10 дней назад

And how do you intend to pursue location freedom as your children continue in their education journey … after a point I am not sure how that will pan out and given the challenges of home schooling it might be difficult to pursue location freedom mostly as it’s been in my case.
Further you mentioned you are getting back to the work force - you did not elaborate on that and what you meant by that … if you do so … won’t time and location freedom be compromised ?
Aren’t you already doing what you do and are productive in doing so ? Why do you feel you are wrong role model for your kids …
I do feel that way myself at times, given that I am not pursuing an active work life like you, though I have come to appreciate a sense and importance of balance - and am pursuing things I am passionate about with my time. However since I still operate from home majority of the time, I feel might not be a good role model for my kids.

You are in the 0.01% where you have achieved location freedom. For a normal guy financial independence and time freedom is pretty good. Location freedom is very expensive and would require a lot more than 3cr. There is no point in pursuing it.
