Actually I think you're wrong, all its going to take is for us to confirm a habitable planet fairly close to our own solar system. The JWST will be able to confirm a breathable atmosphere and the Kepler mission has found several dozen smallish planets located in their stars habitable zone. At this point I think the solution to the problem is to get the US to invest in space exploration again. Most people don't seem to remember how much the space race increased our overall economic health.
You can't directly observe a black hole. We might be able to see the stars orbiting the black hole at the center of Andromeda, but that might be as close as we get. There is no such thing as the "ultimate" telescope. There is always a better telescope, because you can always build a bigger mirror.
Presenting science to non-scientists is exactly what NASA should be doing. This presentation was nowhere near as awesome and exciting as the JWT or its implications. That's my point. Learn marketing, then get back to me with an informed opinion.
What are you smoking? This was the most verbose, boring, disjointed, uninspired "presentation" i have seen in a while. It utterly fails to do the JWT any justice. The entire slideshow felt like a poorly-designed high-school textbook. Apple should be designing these presentations -- not NASA.
This is incredible!

Apple??? Science isn't about glitz/glamour. It's about science. No surprise one of apples fan boys doesn't have a clue.....
