Always find myself coming back to this song. There's just this sort of intangible sense of positivity and sadness mixed together that I've never found anywhere else
I wouldn't say sadness, more like a quiet, unshakeable determination. The rhythmm keeps you moving foward, onward to your own personal heyday. Great tune 👍
@@martinrea8548 ah yeah the song itself isn't really sad, but it's just how poor Mics life was taken away with a cruel snap of the fingers adds that inescapable layer to it ya know?

Mic Christopher - Heyday lyrics For the sun For the light For the ride and for the masters We come to be kind To be warm here and after We've been out But we're back Because we're graced in these matters And we'll rise And we did a little love But we walked We make a sound for the mesto Make a little call to the right To the ball and to the mast-top And we... We fool around now and again We're looking good But just as friends And this is our heyday baby And we're not gonna be afraid to shout Cause we can make our heyday last forever And ain't that what it's all about Oh living, in our own terrible way And we lack a little love, but a sign A sign to get a little messed up Picking up the rules, for the chimes Making up minds and making it last us Cause we live alone, and now we're grown And we know what we're after And we'll rise We fool around now and again We're looking good But just as friends And this is our heyday baby And we're not gonna be afraid to shout Cause we can make our heyday last forever And ain't that what it's all about We fool around now and again We're looking good But just as friends So we have ourselves a break And when we're done And we come to our senses And we'll rise Oh, and we'll rise Cause this is our heyday baby yeah This is our heyday baby This is our heyday baby yeah yeah

I seen glen hansard and friends of mic christopher on the late late show performing this song, a brilliant performance, its a pity mic didnt live 2 see the sucess it had.
I don't think it's a sad song, but it's sad that Mic is gone, and his voice. This is vid is a beautiful hommage to him. I sometimes like to belt this out loud and roar along to the speakers, as my own kinda hommage to MC. : / 🍀

It's not underrated mate...
By a possibly underrated dead singer who did a good job on it
I literally thought that a second before I seen ur comment
Wait this guy is dead?
RIP you legend. Playing this song in my Boston apartment & feeling right at home in Ireland.

The man that Glen Hansard and Damien Rice looked up to. Gone far too young. RIP Mic Christopher....a LEGEND
