Hi John I bought the autoglym red chenille mitt and when wet I found it to floppy and very heavy so I don’t use it anymore I don’t know what the blue one that you’re using will be like
I'm just worried this type of mitt, will catch those tiny bits of dirt or tiny, tiny sand, that we can't see and scratch the body panels. I have 4 mitts now, two from Chemical Guys chenille type, one from Simoniz chenille in yellow, one Halfords hybrid mitt and pad jobbie. The Simoniz, cost me £3, and is on sale again at £3 at Tesco's. Can't tell much difference between any of them, but Simoniz is just a little smaller, fits well, and at £3, can't complain, does a great job. Great video anyway, always appreciate any Forensic review. I don't think any mitt should be more than £10, but you are free to spend your money how you wish. Never buying Chemical Guys Max Coat wheel guard ever again, complete con.
Glad you tested this, I recently bought the chenille version and although it’s very absorbent and soft, it’s a bit floppy when totally soaked through. This makes it very unwieldy to work with IMO. Maybe this one will be better but it is double the price.
That looks very similar to the halfords exclusive Turtlewax one I use. I think that one was a tenner. I wouldn't be surprised if they're coming out of the same Chinese factory.
Hey John, I currently polish with a PC 7424XP and it’s “ok”. Would a Rupes or a Flex dual action be easier to use & better results and maybe faster to polish? Thanks
Been following your channel for a number of years now and I've never seen you use Dr Beasleys. Is there a reason for it? Is it not rated? I'm asking this as I'm wanting to use there 1 step polish and one of there sealants. Thanks
oh yes, sir, the recipe that I use is: carnauba wax, turpentine oil, coconut oil, olive oil, a little Sio2 fine silica powder. Please enlighten me, teacher, what do you think, and what about the strength in the car body, how long is it strong. Thank you very much
Jon, just about any wash mitt can "clean", what we want to know is, does it scratch? It would be good to have a scratch test (a short of your previous) for new mitts. This looks just like every other mitt but if it doesn't scratch, it's straight to the top.
I’ve seen the all purpose cleaner but not great value for money, the mitt is nothing special really so nothing to get excited about, I bought the A1 detailing budget one on sale for like £3 but it’s not expensive anyway and it’s ok for the money, very similar quality to the Gtechiq one
I prefer the touchless washing procedure. I'm afraid of scratching the surface. I agree that I do not reach the level of mechanical cleaning with the wash mitt.
@@ForensicDetailing no thats the Gyeon Wash Pad. Gyeon Smoothie looks like this mitt, but has completely different fibers. Gyeon Smoothie fibers tend to get “tough” after a few washes.
Probably correct. It is completely illogical that the ever expanding number of Detailing Product Companies are all making their own unique products. Lets be real that vast majority of detailing products are subcontracted to few suppliers. Not that this is bad in itself - that's the way with many things these days. Just getting a wee bit over it, to be honest.
Ofc course they don't make it. You would need a factory just to produce and split the microfiber and all the cutting machines etc... Although autoglym formulate and make all their chemicals in house. You go to Chinese or Korean manufacturers for this microfiber stuff. But there's quite a few of these around and it's working with the ones that are better. It's not the same as the budget Ali express ones but you can go that way. The budget chenilles for example are fine and you can pay peanuts.
The pressure washer blowback when trying to detail in the wind is soul destroying
I love the CarPro DabDab wash pad. Nice and soft, not too heavy when loaded and the wrist strap is ideal so you can't drop it.
DabDab is my favourite wash mitt, I would buy again.
Looked at one of these in Halfords on Friday. Looked and felt identical to the £10 TurtleWax version, different colours aside.
picked this wash mitt up from Halfords for half price when I bought a wash bucket. I've enjoyed using it so far
Thanks for the review. Good information.
You’re the only one I trust so I have a request a rinseless showdown with the new optimum options, absolute, mackees and diy detail
I will try mate

That wash bag is very nice separator from competition
No rinse bucket??

The turtle wax mitt is also very good, just £10 at Halfords
I looked at one on Friday... I'm sure it's exactly the same but in different colours!

Not much use if it gets floppy when wet.
That’s what she said 😆

Yes they are, I bought some unbranded ones from Ali express years ago for like £2 each!

Better ergonomic and more cut from modern machines with larger orbits. But any da is a good tool
RAC brand mitts are about a fiver from b+m.

Too many brands m8. Plus USA brands tend to cost a lot here and vice versa.
Valet pro one at £8.50 is also decent
Autoglym seem to be getting a bit pricey with some of their stuff which is a pity as they always (used to) give good value for your pennies

It's not the mitt that scratches m8
@@ForensicDetailing You well know because of your testing some are far better than others with regard to scratching from contaminants.
Would you use this over the Meguiars lambswool mitt Jon ?
yes I dont use lambwool mitts they tend to fall apart. Dooka pad is the exception to this though mate you need to try that one.
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks Jon will give one a go.
The noodle wash mitt is the best wash mitt to go for
i think for safety and less scratches it probably is yer
permission to ask if kaolin is mixed wax, can it be teacher. please reply. thanks
ive not used it m8 i dont know. but in theory yes
@@ForensicDetailing ok sir thanks a lot for the input I want to try
Looks identical to the washmitt I got off ebay for £2
What would be the best wash mitt to use?
chenile noodle mitt type
8:12 what is this?🤔
I think a chenille pad is hard to beat.
I bought the red autoglym wash mitt it’s like having a dead cat on you’re hand absolutely shite
lol
😂

Looks very much like a Gyeon Q2M Smoothie
thats cuffless and different microfiber on either side.
@@ForensicDetailing Sorry it must be the Gyeon Q2M Smoothie EVO i'm thinking of.

These are just branded versions of the Ali express cheapo mitts.. (so non branded) do the job for quarter of a price!
