To call Blue Fire a precision platformer is a understatement. I love 3d platformers and boy howdy is that one freeking hard.
The only game that legit made me wanna throw my switch at a wall
I totally agree with you.
this is a great list! You really nailed some of these. Big thumbs up for not only including one but two visual novel style games
Death's Door is a masterpiece. Dare I say, it was perfect to me. Game of the Year for me, even.
agree!!
thanks for this attestation, im gonna try it out now. its a little hard to just trust the review themselves sometimes. i like hearing it from a real person
Blue Fire was a wonderful experience for me 9/10, one of my favorite game (Platformer + Adventure). Great Video 👏👏
BLUE FIRE is my current favorite hidden gem. I recommend it 100% I played it on pc I bet the switch version is good too though.
Hey, Jay, did you see that 13 sentinels is getting a Switch version? That game is super underrated (went under the radar for a lot of people imo), but I loved it.
I did. Very good game, and I think it better fits a handheld too. Vanillaware did a great job on the Vita, and I think the switch is a natural fit for their games
I agree. Hopefully they manage to nail the optimization because some of the battles were rough on PS4.
But what is that exactly? Gameplay looks super strange.
@@brotbrotsen1100 it's a mix of visual novel gameplay and real time/turn based tactical combat...I have to warn you that if you're not a fan of visual novels, you probably won't like it. The game is like 80% visual novel and only 20% combat.
@@chokedbybacklog5433 Ah okay, probably going to skip it then. Tried playing a few visual novels but it just gets a bit boring for me since the stories never felt good enough to justify having no real gameplay. Shame, i liked odins sphere and muramasa very much.
For me it has to be Tails of Iron. Such an awesome game and nobody is talking about it.
Me: sees the thumbnail
The 1010 obsessed half of my brain: RIN!!!
The other half of my brain: Umbra!!!
I love Blue Fire. It's an excellent game.
For some reason I thought you said Metal Slug 3:40
Btw, just want to say thanks Jay. I look forward to 6pm every night mon-fri, to watch your videos. You do an incredible job, and it's so nice to hear someone that calls it down the middle. No biased calls, well mostly. Some games beg to differ lol.
Just thought I'd let you know how much your videos are appreciated.
Btw, in one of your videos, you should mention the Microsoft Rewards. Just by doing the GamePass quests and the daily Microsoft Rewards quests (like searching using Bing) I was able to buy 2 new games with just the points. Guardians of the Galaxy and Lost Judgment (Black Friday sale). Im sure a lot of people don't know much about it, and it's a great way for them to get any game they want, literally, for free.
Just a way to help more people play more games, especially during these times.
Thank you. I'm glad youre enjoying the content :) and Microsoft rewards are nice! Been using it for years with bing and xbox
Love underground game episodes
Great list, some really excellent games here!
None of these games really WOWed me, but major props for finding games that I never saw in the E-shop 👍
This guy says "on" like a 90s rapper
Great list mate. Discovered some great games here
Horace is a piece of art made game. Death's Door is great. Very nice list.
"if you've ever wanted to be a goose that destroys everything" bahahahahahaha. Wonder how many ppl have ever actually said that. That'd be interesting
Responsive controls man. That’s what I like the most in games. Good call.
GNOSIA is absolutely amazing!! I cannot recommend it enough
If you like Gnosia you will love Raging Loop.
Actually unique list. Well done.
the flynn son crimson game looks very good!! i hope it will be on sale soon!
Great video, thanks!!
GREAT video, you earned my subscription!!!
Thanks for the recommends.
Deaths door is pretty good dude but too empty for me
So Gnosia is basically Mafia/Werewolf in video game format.
I like how he pronounces On like Awn! Lol
awesome thanks :)
Flynn looks really nice on the oled
A few games that should have made the list, is A.I. Somnium Files and My Memory of Us. I'm actually in the middle of playing both of them, A .I. on Xbox (I want the Achievements), My Memory on Switch, and both are amazing, and yes A.I. Somnium Files is on Switch. It's on sale for 15.99 (normally 39.99).
A.I. Somnium Files is a murder/mystery where you play as the detective. Tip: When you see the secretary at her desk from afar, analyze her. Lmao!)
My Memory of Us is a puzzle game, that has some clever puzzles.
I had AI Somnium Files on a previous list. I always change hidden gem lists up each time.
@dream weaver I've seen the game on the Xbox store, but didn't know anything about it. I'll have to check it out. Hopefully it'll be on the end of year sale MS does every year.
Horace looks interesting
Good job
What is the name of the game you were showing on the intro
A good hidden gem would definitely be Ikenfell
Nice!
Heard much about Spelunky, checked a few videos but really couldn't see the appeal. At all. Guess I'm just not that kind of player then.
What’s the name of the game in the beginning before number 1
The commentator just oozes words.
What am I missing? I have seen much praise for 'Death's Door' but for me it did not live up to the hype. I usually enjoy games like this. It started out stron then, about half way through, I started to lose interest. I have seen many reviews calling it souls-like with great bosses, but I never found it to be particularly challenging. I am usually terrible at games that require you to learn enemy attacks and show patience, waiting for the right moment to attack. I suffered only a few defeats, mostly at the hands of regular enemies that came in large groups or in areas were you could accidently roll off the platform's edge. Most of the games bosses were completed on the first or second try. The final boss was only difficult because of the platforming that happened between battles. The other issue, and this is one I have with a lot of metroidvania games, is the back-tracking. Having to repeat the same areas every time you get a new ability, kills the game's momentum especially when all it leads to is pitiful rewards. It works great when you can find new areas to explore and enemies/bosses to fight. Not so much when it is just for a couple of souls.
It could be that Death's Door just isn't for me. I just became curious, after seeing so much praise this game, that maybe I was missing something. Something that when you see it through a specific lens would make this good game great. There is so much potential here and I look forward to future titles from this developer.
The game is good, but it's definitely not a 9/10. It has some issues, but like you, I'd love to see what the developer does next.
I literally just spent a $20 eshop card before this video was uploaded :( I spent it on Castlevania The Advanced Collection and A Short Hike. Though I do have Nexomon Extinction already though.
How is castlevania the advanced collection?
@@nicholasadamson2103 I'm enjoying it, although Circle Of The Moon can have some weird difficulty spikes.
Deaths Door was a phenomenal game! I do agree a map would have been nice. I still need to go back and do some of the end game activities.
Demon’s Turf is very good. But not on sale
I think people aren't talking about Spelunky 2 cos it's an infuriating troll game in their opinion. Also, Unpacking looks like fun for my kids but £18? Come on, brah.
Always get eshop games on sale! That's what the wishlist is for.
@@Qrtuop Yes! I don't think I've bought a game for full price on Switch!
Flyn is a well known great game.
Thanks for making these videos.
Your tense and pronoun-antecedent agreement gets me every time, lol. Nice list!
Destropolis is so amazing and hidden
Ha blue fire. A i don't remember where i got it free. Amazon game or epic game store... Well i got it for 2 dollar on steam i can't wait to play it on the steam deck.
Oh, death’s door is getting recognized.
