Do They Know It #42 - DO COLLEGE KIDS KNOW 80s MUSIC? #2 (REACT: Do They Know It?) Развлечения
The artist "I don't know" has to be one of the oldest, most versatile and prolific artists of all time. Their name comes up in all the Do They Know It episodes. Bravo to them.
RaymondK this comment has me rolling
actually that's a side project of Unknown Artist.
They've written so many songs that have been covered by other artists, it's amazing!
Cue the 12 year olds saying 'I'm only 12 and I knew all of them' and 'I was born in the wrong era 😭'
Sebastian Mairena i feel personally attacked
Sebastian Mairena the amount of comments that are just that😐
Lmao this is too true
That attacked me :( I love 80s
Yeah, it's a cliche, but on the other hand...at least they DO know it. Maybe we should just be happy modern parents are raising their kids with good taste?
Does anyone else pretend they're on the show doing their own reactions oh lord I need a life
Nope haha I do it all the time!
And so do I!!!
Right there with ya😂😂😂
If you need a life and I need a life because I do it I do it all the time. I also do other challenges from my home there’s nobody room I do try not to sing try not to dance. Try not to get angry try not to get scared a lot a try not to🤭🫣😬😐🙄🫢😮☠️😂
Who knew the song "Take My Breathe Away - Berlin" from "TopGun"
?
The sex scene song
Oh god
You guys should do a video where you play a Weird Al Yankovic parody and see if your teens can guess the original song that he was doing that parody of.
"This is a Classic" is the only phrase they know.
Joan Jett is still killing it, saw her in concert a few weeks back and she sounded like she did back then
Where did you see her? I saw her in Cleveland with Mötley Crüe
@@Sportmemorabilia-vg1nn I saw her with motley crue too!!
@@a7xfan778 where did you see her?
saw her a few years back, she was AMAZING!
Next eighties songs you should do some Tears For Fears and Depeche Mode.
Having to remind myself that yelling at the people in the video won't work... they can't hear me... but it hurts my 80s lovin soul man!
Alexander Bair For you: The Trusty Butter Knife
About every song: "This song is a CLASSIC!" You keep using that word...
Lisa Jordan And she doesn't even know the song 😂
what about adults react to the beastie boys
I lol everytime one of them say "this is a classic"..... They're all classics. That's why you've heard them before, college kids!
EasilyDelighted exactly.
Man, i gottta look up this "I don't know" he has so many good songs, why have i never heard of him?
I was born an hour ago and I know all of the songs!
same
My favorite is when they all go, "Oh this is a classic," then NEVER actually know the song or artist.
HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF!! I freaking love Duran Duran❤️❤️
Please do this with elders and 50s and 60s music
I just realized that Glee sings a lot of 80s music lmao
Louise Regina, I watched the uptown girl episode like two days ago actually 😂😂
On 3:46, I thought it was MC Hammer - Can't touch this HAHAHA
80's best music ever! Every kind of music was played and popular. Still my favorite to this day at 52!
I ♥ 80s is my feel good online station
"Cocaine is a hell of a drug."
you should do the 60s and 70s instead of the 80s and 90s over and over again
0:21 'I wasn't alive, I was barely even a thought' :'D
Still waiting for the to include Toto - Africa
Tom: sings “and I’m hungry like the wolf”
Moments later: “What is that song?”
I spiralled into depression when none of them were able to name Duran Duran.
KaneadiaN sameeeew
i was legit screaming hungry like the wolf by duran duran at my phone and i knew the song and artist and i'm almost 15 and they're all older than me how did they not get that song !!
it's tough to watch none of them get the artist... but it's nice that most of them have at least HEARD the songs, and that some of them were even jammin.
Ty Guy true
make them react to rock bands pls (ex. Metallica, AC/DC, etc.....)
avenged seven fold
Next time they do the 80s they NEED to play Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics
Karma Chameleon, Shout, maybe even a little She Bop. If they touched on the quintessential 80's tunes then this video would be several hours in length.
i need that
finally! someone else likes that song!
Bills Joel's we didn't start the fire is great too
And Piano Man
You should do, do college kids know 70's music
Ben Severance I agree! definitely 70s
Still waiting on Guns n Roses
Anastazia Lee So am I
When he said he heard the song "Uptown Girl" from Glee I was like SAMEE
"I love rock and roll" was originally a song by the arrows, a 70's band, and was covered by Joan Jett.
NO QUEEN?
70's and 60's Led Zeppelin and The Beatles
I've been waiting for a 70s or 60s one for quite some time, not sure if they're gonna do it. I have no clue why they wait so lng, it's not like those decades lack classic tunes.
Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Frank Zappa, Cream, Pink Floid, King Crimson, The Who, ZZTop, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Iron Butterfly, Black Sabath, Judas Priest.....
You should do a series called "Do Teens Know 80s Rock n Roll and Metal" and "Do Teens Know 80s Hip Hop/rap" Be more genre specific. Wanna see ACDC, Def Leppard, Metallica, Public Enemy, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Tesla, Skid Row, and others like them
i doubt they will do it, I've been asking them the same thing for about 2 years now, Do Teens know 80s Metal, they keep going generic 80s music.
okay. first thought. have these kids never seen top gun?!
Erin Hill haha I remember that song played at least four times throughout the movie.
Do 70's or 60's next!
This was a cakewalk for me, but then, I lived through the 80s.
It's ridiculous how quickly I started singing along to a majority of these songs. haha. I love 80s music. TT
I was waiting for some Culture Club/Boy George.....karma chameleon. Nena and her 99 Luftballoons. Cindy Lauper and Girls just wanna have fun. Now we need a part 2!!!
Deedee Supine that was part two...
+Chi_Okami my bad a part 3!
Deedee Supine haha yeah!
Berlin is AMAZING! Their entire Pleasure Victim album is such a beautiful, raunchy, fun thing. Then they did music for a version of '1984' with "Room 101", so dark!
I graduated HS in 1986, so this is quite literally my jam! But every time a hair band song comes on, I guess TwistedRattPoisonJoviCrueNRoses because I can't keep them apart. I was into new wave and punk. Still am tbh.
You would have been an outcast in our H.S. I also grads in 86'. It was ALL Heavy metal and Hair bands. Of course the majority of my classmates were and still are idiots. They never left the midwest hometown. Now they're all tRumpsters.
Class of 85 here
@@RobBreedon Class of '84!
"It's one of my favourites songs", doesn't know the singer and know the song because of Glee v8.
1:42 Have you ever seen 'Top Gun'? This is the Love Theme.
I was like trying to not yell at my phone about that. I love top gun and that's what I learned it from.
If there's no Rick Astley I'm gonna riot
Damn it.
Amar Munkhjargal they already made it before with rick astley on it
This Tom guy may be the only kid I've ever seen pull off a beard like that. Well done to you, sir.
If that guy knew uptown girl because of glee, so he should know take my breath away COME ON
Matheus André and fight for your right and hungry like the wolf haha.
I was born in early 2000s but I feel like an 80s or 90s kid at heart.
Alana Scherer Same
PLEASE BRING THIS BACK!!! 😍😍😍😍
they did!
I've had 4 hours of sleep, I'm in pain, I'm grumpy. Seeing Sam rocking out to every song made my morning. Thanks Sam.
Duran is the real legend theirs sound never obsolete ….
TEARS FOR FEARS! You need Tears For Fears in these my goodness! Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Mad World, Shout, something!! They're pretty iconic songs.
Lol, I was yelling "DURAN DURAN! NO ONE THERE KNEW DURAN DURAN?!!!"
Why don't elders react to 1950's music i would like to see if they remember any
“It's my favourite song!“ Doesn't know the artist and just knows the song from Glee.
I always find it odd when someone says "I love this song" or "I listen to this all the time" but doesn't know the name of the artist...or song.
i'm this person, so in my case I just enjoying songs also I'm bad in remembering names especially band names. :)
1. We're Not Gonna Take It-Twisted Sister 2. Take My Breath Away-Berlin 3. Hungry Like The Wolf-Duran Duran 4. Super Freak-Rick James 5. I Love Rock and Roll-Joan Jett and the Black Hearts 6. Uptown Girl-Billy Joel 7. Fight For Your Right-Beastie Boys
Bellatrix 24601 thanks u just saved me
Maryi Bonilla lol you're welcome
I was a teenager in the 80's. It was a great time to be baptised into listening to music. The hair, the outfits, the dancing - those were the days. ;)
I knew half these songs from glee 😂
Laurens life same
Laurens life same
Laurens life same
It lacked of more metal songs, the entire 80's were the best decade for metal.
those are my fav. videos on their channel, never stop making those please, no matter if its 2010, 00's,90's,80's etc
For the next episode:
Depeche Mode - Just can't get enough, Personal Jesus or Enjoy the silence
Eurythmics - Sweet dreams
Pet Shop Boys - It's a sin
Kate Bush - Running up that hill
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
Men at work - Down under
Madness - Our house
"I wasn't alive. I wasn't even barely a thought" LOLLL
70s, but only play pink Floyd
These kids be like, "I know who they are..."
NO, YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T! LOL
Yay Sam is back. He was totally in the audience on live Grease
I'm in highschool and duran duran is one of my favorite groups ever! George michael, Paul McCartney, and Billy Joel top 3
I never want to hear the word 'classic' ever again.
Never have I ever felt old until I hear these whipper snappers say " my parents listened to this "!
I'm genuinely interested to see if they know 2000s cartoons like Danny Phantom, Jimmy Neutron, etc
you'd be surprised how many I've met that don't
Derek Shook that's madness!
ikr, but there are some who weren't allowed or had too many that they watch that they missed several cartoons, like I didn't watch Danny Phantom until a couple years ago, because I overlooked it because of not having enough time for it with the other cartoon I watched
Did these kids never watch Chappelle's Show? RICK JAMES!
Also hell yeah for Beastie Boys, but no Metallica or Megadeth?
99% of 80's songs are CLASSICS!
LOL Sam singing take my breath away. He's like sooo passionate about it.
Madison is my favorite, seems like such a pleasant person to be around
teens should react to Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
What the frick no Bon Jovi, Ac/Dc, Queen, Guns n roses, Pink Floyd, Journey, Montley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Ratt, Skid Row, White Snake, Warrent, Quiet Riot, Kiss, Aerosmith, Scorpians, Tesla, llike jeez the had good ones but not the best,
Thank you for including Scorpions, they are so underrated IMO.
Pink Floyd is far more known for their 60's and 70's stuff, along with Aeromith. Plus, I'm sure they're gonna do more of these with most you mentioned.
PrincessLeia 1965 They only have 9 minutes, can't get through all of the best bands of the whole decade
relax
They can't do every single artist in 1 video, my god
Y'all should do a "do they know country music" that would be interesting!
teppolundgren how they're doing it now, maybe even have one be country legends, or the top 10 of that year
You should do parents know 80s music! They'd flip!! And I'd love to hear their opinions and reactions
think you should do George Michael, Elton John and so many more big 80's artists
"Oh he's huge too"!
That's what she said
YAS I LOVE UPTOWN GIRL
I know literally every song from this just because I watched Glee. Thanks Glee!!!
still waiting for any Guns n' Roses
I'd like to thank Glee for introducing me to 80s music, I knew all these songs
Man i would dominate this competition. All of these songs are classics. You don't have to be an 80's kid to know them.
I knew all of the songs, but the only artists I knew were because of that one episode of Doctor Who & that one episode of the A-Team (& Billy Joel, of course)
love the do they know older music. I'd love to see more from the 70s and 80s
I once came upon Duran Duran' s singer sitting in my yard with my dad and my uncle.
Did you ask them, Is There Something I Should Know?
he says " i was barely even a thought." jokes can easily be born from this.
Fun Fact: In the Navy's air division, they warn you during that, while singing "Danger Zone" over the comms gets you a fine, singing "Take My Breath Away" gets you shot at. And they aren't kidding.
Is it just me who knew the second song from Top Gun?
I'm only 14 and I knew every one of these songs because I grew up with my parents playing 80's music.
allyson k. I grew up with 90s music bc my mom grew up in the 90s lmfao😂 and I'm 18
allyson k. I am 15 and when I have kids ill play them 90's - 60's music. Hell even some 50's and early 00's I guess
I was born in 86 but I only knew 3 of the acts who performed the songs mentioned "Super Freak" Rick James, "Fight For Your Right"Beastie Boys, "Uptown Girl" by Billie Joel
Tom "I was barely even a thought" xD love it!
I want more of these and the ones with the 90's music!
At least they admit they don't know the artist and leave it at that unlike those other uncultured heathens who guess every pop song artist is Britney Spears or the spice girls lol
or every rock song is green day lol
DeadStar90 accurate
1:51 Me whenever my favorite song comes on..
the only reason why i know "hungry like the wolves" is because it comes out in shrek
