I can’t believe the GameFreaks had been holding Quinty Tarantinty’s belated masterpiece for almost 25 years, this is truly the cinematic masterpiece of video game leaks
1999 was really late for a Super NES release. I can understand why they cancelled it, but they should at minimum offer it on their Nintendo online service.
Hopefully someone could do a fan translation pretty quick I mean, it's not like it needs one It's not even finished But still, it's always cool to have Non-Pokemon Game Freak every once in awhile
Considering the grim dark tone that localizers gave to this game's original release I wonder what would they do with that remake which looks this cheerful. On one hand, they could change the instrument samples and some graphics, on the other hand, the year 1998 is too late for such localizing tricks.
I hope there's a finished build somewhere. Mendel Palace is one of my favorite NES games and I would love to see every nook and cranny of this remake!!
Well it's a Super Nintendo/Super Famicom Game from 1998 so that's probably one reason. That was well into the lifecycle of the N64 after all. Granted it could've been repurposed for the GBA since the hardware is pretty much the same so it is strange why it was just abandoned like it was.
It was going to be a downloadable game from Nintendo Power, a service Nintendo ran in Japan to keep the Super Famicom kicking, as part of its "Preserve Good Games" division. But the service ended up being a confusing and undercooked failure, so most games that were finished by this point never went out into the world.
@larrylaffer3246 Mega Man & Bass came out on the SFC in 1998. In fact, the SFC was still going strong until 2003, and its last game was a Metal Slader Glory remake in 2000.
@@solarflare9078 "Going strong" is overselling it a bit. They largely dropped selling dedicated cartridges by that point and tried to bank hard on Nintendo Power, which didn't work out super well. In fact, Metal Slader Glory never got a physical cartridge officially.
This game is great but why did this have to be in a dumb Pokémon Leak? Pokémon as a whole sucks and even the Black 2 and White 2 releasing late in the DS's Lifecycle only one year before the third to worst video game which is Smurfs 2 DS
I'm more interested in this and the possible unreleased Gear Project game than any potential Pokémon news. This is huge.
quinty bros.... finally... after 35 years... the wait paid off....
Quintybros, we are so back
*wheeze* I am still young, lads, I can still play it. Only 50 years young!

It just keeps happening folks
If the Internet Archive returns back online, dump and upload these builds! We need to preserve this!
Had this been released, it would have been a downloadable title through Nintendo Power
Yeah, there was a program in place to remake old games through the Nintendo Power service, but it flopped before much could come out of it.
I used to love Mendel Palace back in the day.
WHAT?!?!?! A Quinty cancelled build?! And there's more?! Thanks for showing this. It's been years since the last Nintendo Direct.

The final SNES game was released in Japan at 2001 IMO I would see a Quinty release Despite were Japan exclusive

Nice pfp. FLCL is GOAT
Used to own a copy of this back in the day. No clue where it went. Who knew they'd eventually be so big?
amazing
Cornflake guy YAYYYYY
Oh cool! Is it the full game or just partial?
Ah yes, the remake of the game where that one unused NPC from RSE comes from. Wonder why it was cancelled though...

Interesting! Never played it in the old times because the play action seemed confusing.
0:44 the font here looks different than in your announce/update video. How many builds of the game do you have?
3 builds in total.
Did the game crash when you reached the boss or was that part unfinished so the game just kicked you out?
One of the builds crashes on the first boss, yes.
So its all real?
It's real and we're back.
wheres the rom download?
So, will we see this on Nintendo Switch Online, or is the ROM lost to the hacker who stole it?
leaked rom
This was never going to release
And it's thanks to the hackers that we now can play it
Unlikely because it seems to be in an unfinished state and was never released.
Yikes, that was painful to watch.

I feel like something like this could genuinely make it's way onto SFC NSO, if not SNES NSO.
