my fingers hurt just thinking about making this
+Thomas Bradshaw But it would be so satisfying to watch it go
+Dragongaga but there is 126,285 pieces and each piece will take like ten seconds to put on without making it wobble and the fact there is ones going above you is insane. but yeah it would be very mesmerising to watcn
Probably they built it in sections and put the sections together
i used to play till my finger bled
If you think putting it together would be bad, remember the GWR officiator would have had to hand-check every piece to make sure it was all regulation K'nex...!
someone please put a gyro-stable camera in one of those balls and then put it through this machine i have a desperate need too see that.
Try hotwheel races it won't disappoint you
Drake Felling asdfffffgggghhhhhh
Hard to believe it's just over 126,000 pieces. Seems like it should be so much more with how massive this contraption is. Very awesome work
Whoever built this must have endured the most finger pain imaginable.
it is a team.
Yes
3:30 when you're trying to beat the yellow traffic light but end up having to stop anyways
I have never felt more empathy for a plastic ball.
"Gonna make it. Gonna make it.. ahh fu... crap"
@@WolfPack-gi7br lol
Single-handed keeping the Knex company alive, sweet!
I think just the fact that lego and knex are compatible keep knex relevant
It is pretty cool stuff to toy with, though over here, it never really catched on, I don't know anyone that has Knex
Jason Miller rip mecano
I've always been a fan of K'NEX ever since I was a kid, and this is VERY impressive! 🙂
That was awesome. And i was impressed that when i was a kid i made a shopping cart with K'nex... This thing must have taken forever
+Dylan Falkengren Dedication's what you need when you wanna be a record breaker! Glad you enjoyed it Dylan.

When ever I see one of these, I can't help but wonder when someone is going to create a little see through ball which has a small camera inside with weights on the bottom. A free moving camera, so we could get an idea of what the trip is like from the ball's point of view.
"I was bored" said the man.
Im bored just watching this
This is first time I've ever seen anybody mention K'nex. I'm from India and they are unavailable here. A relative bought a huge tub of K'nex from the US and that thing, inarguably, shaped most of my childhood. I give K'nex a shitload of credit for being so damn flexible in the sense that you can make about anything with them. I used to make a lot of practical things with them, CD holders, phone holders, photo frames, random ass show piece vehicles, pen stands. Oh man. Thank you so much for mentioning K'nex. This brought back a LOT of memories.
Up to 0:18 I was like: "Doesn't look too hard, bet I could beat it."
I was wrong.
I was thinking that exact thing
Someone counted those pieces
i bet it is more like a rough estimate. (they know how much pieces there are in a package.)
0sjors0 GWR doesn't work like that, records are precise and accurate. If it wasn't accurate they wouldn't quote the number as precisely 126,285 pieces
Say there were 10 packages with 100 pieces in each. You know that you have 1000 pieces but when you completed the build you have 5 pieces left, and then you know you only used 995. I think they used that method.
You realize how long it would take to count every single piece?
it was more of the distance it traveled rather than the parts
I would like it if you would stick with one specific ball
Hour long video
XD
It would have been difficult to film. I thought cameraman did a good job.
It also would have been nearly impossible because you would have to wait for the ball to go down each individual path.
JustGabbieandfriends Gohn there are many paths so that’d be dumb
I wish more was shown, i was hoping to follow a ball all the way through the layout.
amazing! now all we need to do is get this guy to design those novelty gumball machines you see in stores!
+mewthemew so i can wait 4 minutes for my gum
+k0sofchaos don't you mean 4:20
+mewthemew Yea good idea! Make one larger than that so that kids wont get their gum in time
Ik vond jou video heel erg leuk
That machine is amazing! Makes me want to break out some of my case's of K'Nex and start building again (Although I could never match even 1/20th of this contraption!!!) Thanks for helping bring up memories of glorious days past!
That noises kinda creepy and scary like thousands (huge)insects having a meeting...
NWO :O
that would be an awesome meeting
theratking013 I actually find them really cool and relaxing
Than again, all just depends on what kind of insects we're talking about.
DEFINITELY with you,why do people always got to go reading unpleasantness into such delightful topics????Especially this sort of thing?
k'nex are basically next level tinker toys. this was awesome.
Now this is a blast from the past.
Just listen to all that plastic somewhere a lego man somehow grows a bulge
that's a lot of kits
get back 2 work.
hi mom
u 2
u are everywhere it seems
henlo
Now imagine if someone just took a sledgehammer to it..
Wouldn't really do much, just knock a few connections loose. K'nex are remarkably resilient.
^this guy's a comedian just listen to all that plastic about to fall apart, if the wind blew it the wrong way pieces would snap
Jason Miller
Seriously, have you ever worked with K'nex before? The plastic on the regular sized pieces is a lot more durable than you might think, and the connectors are designed to come apart long before the pieces would snap.
Granted, the smaller scale pieces they use in the roller coaster kits are considerably thinner and probably would break under that strain, but this particular build doesn't use any of those pieces.
The ABS plastic or whatever in Knex is extremely strong, but he should put some fishing line in the mix to ensure it doesn't sag over time.
Nothing is immortal in this world, so you want to take measures to make things last longer.
Impressive! I have some Knex sets myself, including that set where you build that 6-foot-tall ferris wheel. It took me a total of twelve hours of continuous work to put that thing together, and yes, my fingers were mighty sore afterwards. This guy though, is a frickin' WIZARD! It must've taken days or even weeks to build it, I wonder if he had some help. Building toys have always been a hobby of mine, and it's really inspiring to see something like this. This is like the big ball factory set I have, only a hundred times bigger. I wonder how much all those parts cost? Must be $10,000 at least.
WOW.....I don't even think I had .5% of the K'nex needed to make this when I was a kid.
That's over 6000 pieces. I think you may be right.
madeincda sorry but no. 0.5% of 126000 pieces is roughly 630.
Right, I didn't see the decimal there... my mistake.
This needs some OK GO music playing in the background.
Owldude000 This made me laugh harder than it should have
Drowning Pool - Bodies
Owldude000 . Literally exactly what I was thinking
Really really wished (s)he would have just followed the ball, now I am confused on what is the path and what is later in the path...
sigh
You're the only one on the planet who cares sorry
wrong sorry, it confused me too
Really confused me too
Lol... I come back and guess what Jason Miller ... I am not the only one that this confuses/bugs/etc, there's a lot it bothers (I came back hoping that this wasn't the video I watched... since RUclips doesn't like saving the videos you've seen if it has been awhile since you've seen them, really hate that about RUclips).
Now that's my kind of world record! What a fun deal!
+carl Flemens Have you lost your marbles XD
I still have tons of marbles and always looking for more!
LOL
_Kevin! What did you do to my room!?_
Man that's a nice contraption! Big thumbs up for that!
I used to love K'NEX as a kid!
I used to have so much k'nex as a kid, it was my favourite thing ever! Used to build weird contraptions including a wind powered crane (really! used a fan to power it lol)
Reminds me of the memory balls from Inside Out
Lol it does
omg yes
omg truuu
lol
yes. i agree so much
Not sure what I spent more money on, K'NEX or video games. Loved putting that stuff together!
Just when I thought it couldn't possibly get any longer... It gets longer.
you went 4 months without a 'thats what she said' joke. by the way, thats what she said.
That is literally the best unintentional asmr and relaxing video ever.
2:07 was the difference between amused and amazed.
love the clicking popping sound
It's the sound of lego minifigs banging in the background
Jason Miller good, now go to bed
500 Hours and $5000 spent on putting this incredible machine together. 5 Minutes invested in camera work. It was semi-great until it was backlit.
I wouldn't call it incredible, reserve that for technology like a space elevator not a bunch of plastic stressing under the weight of a bunch of plastic balls, just to have them run around a crazy nonsensical track of no real purpose other than to show off
Spence Redford It is a bit of a disparity. There was talk of an improved video sometime, though, if not already out (I haven’t checked).
@@Jason0binladen going to space is pointless everything is pointless when you make it that way
*Goes up to it* *Adds a piece* *New world record*
I really like the clacking noises those plastic orbs make.
Incredible! I could sit in that room for hours and watch it...it is kind of peaceful and calming in a way...especially watching the balls in that large funnel.
the lego tank painting in the background is of the cobra king... one of the more badass tank stories ive ever read. I put decals on my jeep with the same serial numbers and markings :-)
Can't wait for K'NEX to release this kit to the public !
Imagine if this was a rollercoaster.
+Edmar Alvarez Cordero THE RIDE NEVER ENDS
That would be too intense of a ride for me, although it would look cool.
the best gift I've got as a kid was knex. Once I got "big ball factory", 170$ worth of knex that I've build in 3 days, 12h a day. I was in another world, this changed me.
This would have been my 10-year-old self's dream come true.
Amazing build but camerawork was really annoying
Got that right
I just imagine it's the end of the world and someone looking for supplies finds this contraption.
He should get a another award for the most piece of k'nex
more architecturally stable than any house i've lived in
That... is a truly stunning feat of structural engineering.
I could watch that thing at 1:26-1:45 all day!
Wow, very impressive. Takes me back to my old Meccano days. Cheers
imagine if it was one of those things where you break one thing, you break the entire thing. one small move.
Given i had the money to purchase enough K'nex i would love to spend a whole year building a contraption like this one. Congrats on the Record Austin. Might hop over a state for a visit once. Greetings from your cheesy neighbors.
I wanna say something along the lines of "That's cool, but what a waste of time."
However, this is how I'm spending my Friday night.
Alone.
And without a world record.
And here I am, proud to make a cube out of these things.
And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is why I prefer K'NEX over LEGO.
Who else is part of that 1%?
I am :D
Oh the childhood memories...
Mitchel Jansen #TeamLegoX'nex
You like moving sets better? Honestly though there is K'nex style Legos stop with all the hate and start building with both, Legos are better for filling in empty spaces, but movable lego sets wouldn't exist without K'nex
nightshadow "Do you want to build a X'nex set? ....Na Na Na Na Na Na naaaaa... It doesn't even have to be a set... :("
K'nex isn't the only thing that has ball machines, though
I'd recommend looking up GBCs, or Great Ball Contraptions. They're a thing done at many lego cons and the like. They're designed so that they're more or less entirely modular, so a bunch of people bring in their segments, and assemble them on-site.
Granted, the balls used are a fair bit smaller, so it's not quite as room-fillingly huge, but there's some hella impressive things done with the medium.
that was awesome and i was impressed that when i was a kid i made a shopping cart with k,nex ... this thing must have taken forever
I had the roller coaster with the loop the loop and 24ft of track as a kid. That thing was awesome. It took up most of my room.
I went from Lego to Knex to Lego Tehnic to Minecraft to Minecraft redstone to programing. I'm a programer because of all these basically toys. I love it
I cried watching this. I studied mathematics, architecture and physics.
It's just beautiful in every way.
All that clicking in the background is him furiously putting together more stuff to add onto this contraption.
So this is what humans do when they dont have to fight to survive.
It's why Nature made us fight to evolve in the first place. She was terrified of what we'd do with a few k'nex sticks, so tried to throw lions, tigers, and bears at us to keep us busy.
OrionoftheStar Oh look, another idiot who believes in a theory that has no facts supporting it.
We are the first species that can be happy
you sound butt hurt
"No facts supporting it". AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA.
for everyone saying that someone had to count every single piece, when you buy the pieces, the box tells you how many there are inside, and they just tallied that up
I see sign that says touch them, and sign that says don't touch them.
This should be in one of those interactive museums.
When it started I was, "Yeah ok boring..." then by half way impressed and finished with "Some people just have too much spare time on the hands!"
Nothing beats the beauty of Lego
That is not lego.
spiked pigeon that is the Problem, captain obvious :)
"Can you make a torpedo? Then do so, Mr. Allnut."
If u like knex u gotta know about this guy. He's everywhere
Reminds me of the Memory Balls from Inside Out
My new favorite asmr video
You guys should check out the one in Science World in Vancouver. It's not KineX, but it is pretty much the same thing as this, but, it's AT LEAST 20 yrs old. And it still runs perfectly.
Well. This makes me feel horrible about myself. Thanks.
You have way too much free time to do this. But thank you, this is awesome
Cool! Who remembers "Tinkertoys" or Meccano" sets?
His parents were like: "put down your phone and go build something" so he got pissed and was like, ok I WILL!
imagine being the ball going through this must be one helluva ride!
There's something oddly satisfying about the miscellaneous clicking noises.
It's hard to believe there are only 126,285 pieces in this build!
My inner child is screaming right now.
I can't believe I'm 2 years late to this party! Awesome build though😎👌
.... you know your obsession has gone too far when you need to buy a warehouse to contain it
There's always a chance that this one can be bested. Keep creating, K'nex enthusiasts. I'm rooting for you =)
I remember when my science teacher let us play with these, brings back memories.....
My mother never got over how I never assembled The big air ball tower…. Im happy to know the kit probably ended up in this
Cool Blickmania! Didn't know this K'NEX setup was a GWR. Miss the open house on the first Saturday of the month.
I would suggest that he put more balls into the machine, but that would mostlikely destroy the it
Great work on creating this Masterpiece :D
SON, WHAT DID YOU DO WITH MY BASEMENT?
*Simply what I just couldn't DO in the attic !*
“Hey man I need to use the garage for a month”
“Why?”
I got here from a Minecraft timelapse video and now I cant stop imagining some kid just kicking holes into it before moving on.
This should be a set but on a smaller scale
"Do Not Touch" - Older brother walks in and "accidentally" destroys everything..
Would have been cooler as a roller coaster.
the background looks like he made it in an alley between an office building and a random mcdonalds
the person who made this:THE PAINNNNN MY FINGGERSS
Brilliantly insane deisgn and perseverance.
oh the irony of having a lego poster behind the assembly
