    • @SebastianKreivi
      @SebastianKreivi 7 лет назад +24

      Say there were 10 packages with 100 pieces in each. You know that you have 1000 pieces but when you completed the build you have 5 pieces left, and then you know you only used 995. I think they used that method.

    This is first time I've ever seen anybody mention K'nex. I'm from India and they are unavailable here. A relative bought a huge tub of K'nex from the US and that thing, inarguably, shaped most of my childhood. I give K'nex a shitload of credit for being so damn flexible in the sense that you can make about anything with them. I used to make a lot of practical things with them, CD holders, phone holders, photo frames, random ass show piece vehicles, pen stands. Oh man. Thank you so much for mentioning K'nex. This brought back a LOT of memories.

    • @evknucklehead
      @evknucklehead 7 лет назад +4

      Jason Miller
      Seriously, have you ever worked with K'nex before? The plastic on the regular sized pieces is a lot more durable than you might think, and the connectors are designed to come apart long before the pieces would snap.
      Granted, the smaller scale pieces they use in the roller coaster kits are considerably thinner and probably would break under that strain, but this particular build doesn't use any of those pieces.

    • @manictiger
      @manictiger 6 лет назад

      The ABS plastic or whatever in Knex is extremely strong, but he should put some fishing line in the mix to ensure it doesn't sag over time.
      Nothing is immortal in this world, so you want to take measures to make things last longer.

    Impressive! I have some Knex sets myself, including that set where you build that 6-foot-tall ferris wheel. It took me a total of twelve hours of continuous work to put that thing together, and yes, my fingers were mighty sore afterwards. This guy though, is a frickin' WIZARD! It must've taken days or even weeks to build it, I wonder if he had some help. Building toys have always been a hobby of mine, and it's really inspiring to see something like this. This is like the big ball factory set I have, only a hundred times bigger. I wonder how much all those parts cost? Must be $10,000 at least.

      You like moving sets better? Honestly though there is K'nex style Legos stop with all the hate and start building with both, Legos are better for filling in empty spaces, but movable lego sets wouldn't exist without K'nex

      K'nex isn't the only thing that has ball machines, though
      I'd recommend looking up GBCs, or Great Ball Contraptions. They're a thing done at many lego cons and the like. They're designed so that they're more or less entirely modular, so a bunch of people bring in their segments, and assemble them on-site.
      Granted, the balls used are a fair bit smaller, so it's not quite as room-fillingly huge, but there's some hella impressive things done with the medium.

    the lego tank painting in the background is of the cobra king... one of the more badass tank stories ive ever read. I put decals on my jeep with the same serial numbers and markings :-)

    for everyone saying that someone had to count every single piece, when you buy the pieces, the box tells you how many there are inside, and they just tallied that up
