A rainy day skiing in crappy weather is still a good day in my book!

I’m grateful for your sharing of these conditions and the beautiful views. And I don’t have to freeze watching it. Haha.
Could you share your knowledge on skiing through trees.
I know it’s very dangerous, but you are an expert alpine skier. Could you explain the dangers and techniques for those wanting to get out and do this?

Thanks for your comment. I think the key initially is to try and ski off piste in all types of conditions (powder, ice, breakable crust, and wet snow) with no trees or very thin trees and then try to progress to thicker tree runs as well as steeper runs as your skills improve. The biggest dangers being tree wells and tree strikes.

Oh gosh. Bummer conditions. Let’s hope that January brings better snow.

A day skiing, in less than ideal conditions, is loads better than a lot of other things you could be doing right? Mt Rose Hwy might be the place to be with these recent storms. I haven't gone yet to check it out.

well said and I agree 100%. Yes North Lake seems to be doing much better with their snowpack. We will see if we can get out that direction.
